(snip)

I intentionally trivialized this mission because it was really frustrating with how I had changed the stealing skills. Since stealing is so much more accurate now it was almost impossible to avoid getting stolen from. I didn't think that kind of difficulty was particularly fun.

Curious for opinions on this. Do people prefer this mission as a total cakewalk or a frustrating nail-biter where you almost have to stunlock the enemy to avoid breaking the law?

Hm, I hadn't thought about that. With the changes to stealing, there's a real danger of just being robbed blind by three thieves Waylaying your clan warchest into thin air. It's not like money is especially hard to get (especially if you're Strongarming enemies left and right like I am) but it's still probably excessively punishing in that way. The mission being relatively easy is intended, the story thread of the mission is that it was all a drill anyways, so making it especially challenging and dangerous isn't appropriate. Your party talker even comments about how they were too easy to take down at the end of the battle.

I still think that trying to follow a Law that radically changes your tactical approach is an important part of the challenge and flavor of the mission, and losing that challenge entirely would be a shame. Also worth noting that unless it is specifically a victory condition, the only thing that breaking a Law isn't the end of the world, you just lose your bonuses.

Maybe the right approach would be to change the Law in that mission to a differently challenging Law. Something significant, but not overly harsh or easy to ignore. Copycat, Solitude, or Targeting Distant Units all come to mind.

Less bug report, more minor annoyance

There are two ways for a Bishop to learn Magick Counter - the Chameleon Robe, and the Magick Ring. Is this intended?

Oh, whoops, looks like you're right. I should probably take it off one of those. Leaning toward leaving it on the Chameleon Robe, but I'd hear arguments for the Magick Ring instead.

Oh, and I have a question/suggestion: can Viera snipers dual-wield 1-handed guns? Is it an engine limitation, or a balance choice?

I'm not sure if guns can be dual wielded or not. I can technically set the flag to allow it but sometimes that crashes the game due to animation issues. I haven't messed with which weapons can be dual wielded for that reason. I could find out, though. Dual wielding guns would be pretty cool for both Snipers and Hunters, if you wanted to build a gunslinger character. I don't think it would be overpowered, although obviously I'd test it out first. I'll look into whether or not it's possible.

Am unsure if I just ignored if this was stated. But I cannot complete the Beastmaster Job because my dude refuses ta Equip the Crescent Bow means finishing out my Blue Magick also incomplete as they'll never use it on me even when I Confusion Status them. Forget Charm Status as they just walk around.

Have notcied that favorite Abilities and Magick ta use on certain Classes were taken away, that blows as I don't use certain Races. And dunno if it's possible yet could you make recruitin' an Gria much easier for the Start of the Game? Or changing one of the many Humes to them? Wish they let one of the many NPC ones join up instead though and Frimelda could've easily been an Gria too sigh.

Didn't think I'd make an Account but spent an Hour just tryna get this dude to equip the darned Weapon, even removed all of his others thinkin' that were the Issue. I saw most of the changes were done ta make sure everything's balanced yet given that the Enemies managed ta make me work every Battle, feel some Job Classes could get back things that were removed. (Regarding Reaction and Support Abilities) Besides my complaining(my bad), I'm happy I stumbled upon this as this gotta be the most FunFuns I've had playing through this Title. And so much of this should've been common sense for SquareEnix. Dunno if you're gonna, but Custom Classes would be phenomenal or just giving some Abilities learned from one Weapon ta Multiple Races. Thanks kindly so much!

I'm pretty sure the Crescent bow is a leftover from their attempt at having Beastmasters equip bows for variety, which was stumped by the game crashing due to lacking animations.

Ahh'Kays, I see then, guess I'll quit obsessing over it now. But is there no other way to teach the Weapon Ability?

Ahh, shoot. Yeah, this is an oversight from when I tried to give Beastmasters bows. I must have missed moving one ability back to instruments/poles. For now there's no way to teach that ability, but I'll have it fixed in the next update. (Spoiler alert: I can give Beastmasters bows now; thanks Rurusaschi!) Sorry! Sucks that it's needed for a Blue Magick spell, too.

ETA: My notes show that I intended to put that ability on the Ivory Pole, so it might still be there. It depends on how exactly I screwed this up.
