Help! / Mixing different ability sets.
December 28, 2019, 10:40:16 pm
Quick question:  Will it cause any sort of funny business if I mix abilities from different sets (specifically those that are not default, i.e. item, jump, aim, etc?)  For instance, what might happen if I try to nest ....idk, Throw Ball inside of the Item set?  Or put Fire 3 in the Aim set?  Apologies for the n00b question.

Help! / It's all coming back to me...
October 30, 2016, 01:56:02 pm
I have started to get back into hacking after many years.  I never got very far the first time around, and now I remember why.  This game's code is a mess.  Just fiddling around in the patcher, it is blaringly obvious how disorganized the original developers were.  There is no organic or logical flow to any of the layout for jobs/abilities/etc.  Part of me just wants to delete it all and build it back up from the ground, but that would create a LOT more work for me in the long run, as I would have to literally go back through every bit of text, every battle, every NPC.... anyone have any thoughts on this subject, or am I alone in my OCD on this one?

Help! / Re: Utility help for returning noob.
October 30, 2016, 12:34:17 pm
Thanks.  That utility sounded familiar, but I got hung up on the PSP logo beside it, and didn't notice the PS logo was there as well.  I checked out that list of tuts, but as I said, are still a step or two above me.  When I want to devote a full day or two to bashing ASM into my head, I might suck it up.  Thanks again.

Help! / Utility help for returning noob.

I started to get into hacking fft many years ago, but never got very far.  I am returning to take another whack at it, but I don't have the desire to do elaborate ASM hex editing.  It is a little too intimidating to me at this point.  I used a utility before, but can't seem to find it, or any mention of it.  It was a simple, intuitive graphical interface with drop down boxes, etc.  Perfectly suited for easy editing of jobs, items, abilities, etc.  Can someone jog my memory, or point me in the direction?  Also, any guides out there for the super-noob at hacking would be useful.  I find most of the tutorials that are stickied to be a step or two above me.
