The game works fine until the point where it says "Orbonne Monastery" at the start of the game, and then it just freezes. I've burnt the game using ImgBurn on 4x speed.

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.
