Help! / New to Hacktics

Hello all! I am a long time lover of FFT as i played it on the PS1 and now i have it on the PSP as the FFT:WOTL i have started getting an interest in changing the game and characters to the way i want it to be but i don't even know where to start. Can any of you guys send me links to introduce the basic things i need to hack the game?
