Nodding her head with approval at Lyra's action, observing the girl borrowing one of her sturmfuasts, she steels herself for what could possibly be beyond the shrouded, smoke-covered battlefield, sighing to herself in the dim, murky darkness just a few feet forward, and decided to take a much more defensive position, covering Lyra as she fell back from her assault, throwing her specialized winch-equipped arm behind her, ready to launch forward and entangle the legs of an approaching enemy suit, at which point she would attempt to disrupt their balance, throwing them onto the ground with a thunderous fire of her boosters in the opposite direction, her gun aimed toward the target, as she took her position, dashing across Lyra, a somewhat nostalgic feeling permeating the depths of her mind as she acted with icy precision.

1) approach O38, dashing behind Lyra to cover her from enemy fire
2-5) ready utility crane to entangle an approaching enemy, prioritize by closest to the flag, targeting their legs. If entangled, try to boost backwards to throw them to the ground and regardless of the success of 2, attempt to shoot the ensnared target while taking up a defensive position on the upper right side of the flag, forward to the smoke but still near allies.
2
Slides herself toward the slanted wall of the sheer rock face beside her mobile suit, taking cover behind its angled edge and glancing out toward the low coridoor that provided the furthest avenue of attack their force could come under fire from, preparing herself to deal with any enemies that might come from the extreme southeast,.

1) Move to R39.
2-5) If approached by a single unit at medium vision distance, attempt to snare it using her winch, aiming for the legs first, before switching to a melee attack, discarding her machine gun, but trying to hold her position behind the plateau. If the enemy approaches from a considerable distance, she will instead fire a round of Sturmfausts toward them.

As her open communication channel fades out in a static-filled humming, Linear nods her head in solemn agreement and turns her sharp eyes toward the roiling sands of the battlefield before her, glancing side to side at her companion, still amazed that Lyra was alive after all this time, a slight tinge of excitement scratched the smooth surface of her icy mind as she thought to herself how fortunate she was to be able to demonstrate both her prowess in combat and her intense care for her sister, but places a long-nailed hand gently against her brow, wiping it and her thoughts clean with a definitive stroke, as she begins to move, answering back on her radio,
"Yes, i'll head straight there."

She trudges down the short path toward her lookout post (1: move to Q40) beside the enormous rocky plateau, slumping against it and readying her left hand's coiled winch behind her shoulder, her other hand pressing her shield afront, ready to immediately switch to its holstered blade should fighting escalate, as she steadies herself, breathing slowly and watching the narrow overhang formed by the large rock formation to her left, ready to ensnare any enemies that get too close,  (2-5: hold action), prepared to draw them close, drop her machine gun, ineffective against any initial assault, and attack fiercely upon their legs with the heat sword sheathed within her heavy shield, in a vicious horizontal slice. However, if an enemy approaches from a considerable distance, she was prepared to throw her Sturmfausts forward from her left hand, as she gazed onward from her vantage point.

1) Move to Q40
2-5) Ready herself to snare targets who step into range of her utility crane's winch, drop her machine gun to slice her trapped target's legs with her heat sword. If a target approaches from a much further distance and is visible, she will launch her Sturmfausts at them instead.

"Well, off we go I suppose, you simply must tell me what this... this... "J.U.N.K" is, hopefully its not nearly as bad as its namesake implies... full of energy as always eh?" Linear says to the petite girl nearly making circles around her as they walk off together toward the cafeteria, the brawl from earlier long in their shadow as they make their way across the hanger's dimly lit rear, her hands firmly pressed to the back of her skull as she tilts her gaze upward at the corrugated metal ceiling, criss-crossed by occasional structural supports, whistling a jaunty tune as the beginnings of a smile slide their way across her face, for the second time in a great long while, rolling her eyes at the newcomer that seemed to be making an introduction to Rin and Atrius, she would eventually come to know all of these diverse characters, but right now, all that mattered was her sister, and there was plenty of catching up to do.

"So, how has your time with Zeon been?" she asks in earnest curiosity, making her way down the cool, smooth hallway now adjacent to the hanger, walking in almost casual strides, the lack of direction quite a refreshing experience.
5
Linear tilts her head quizzically down toward the much smaller girl, running up beside her as if to tug on her skirt in an excited, following manner, perplexed by what she had said, unable to realize the reason she was so confused was that this Lyra had the same last name as her, but it took her mere moments to realize the connection, and what it could possibly mean, and in a whirl of frightening quickness, she stopped, and pulled on Lyra's arm, dragging her in a surprising burst of strength off of her feet and pulling her beside a very normal-seeming Zaku mobile suit, its fortress of a shield blocking them from view, as she sets her hands on Lyra's shoulders, and speaks to her, voice wavering for the first time in several years, her mind racing, her heart about to leap out of her chest.

"What did you just say? Lyra *Lelande*?! That's... That's my last name... oh my god, are you..." she stammers out, holding the side of the railing to brace herself before taking a deep breath, and rushing downward, swooping her arms around Lyra and embracing her tightly, releasing her when she realizes the audacity of her action and how strange it must seem, the lightest hint of crimson passing her high cheeks, fleeting as she begins to speak in a much more composed manner.

"Oh i'm so sorry, Its just... well... I'm Linear Lelande, and I think that you may be my little sister, so many years before, I was taken away by our father, you probably don't remember me, but I remember you, I would never forget that smiling face, you sure have grown..." she says to her now, a motherly grin, small and modest, replacing her stern expression from earlier as she leans back against what is more clearly now her machine, nothing in particular extravagant or different about it, but the familiarity with which she presses her back against its metal exterior tells more than enough.

"In any case.." she starts, clearly still amazed at their meeting, "...i'm glad to be here, thank you for the welcome."
6
A long-nailed, elegant hand comes to rest gently against the small of Lyra's back, catching and supporting the petite girl in an encompassing way, as Linear's firm-heeled boots click loudly with her imposing steps as she traverses the empty space between the edge of the docking bay and the two women whose eyes are locked in furious gazes.  Her hand traces a sweeping motion across Lyra's small form as if to push her behind, into the thick, shadowy folds of her trailing coat as she kneels for a moment, speaking to her, filled with a strange nostalgic feeling as her hand brushes circumspectly across her uniform.

"Are you alright? Can't have my new squadmates tossed around, mmm?" she says with a level, mild tone, sharpening significantly as she rises and ducks down just in time to avoid the forward strike from a dignified gentleman, perhaps a captain, aimed at Rin, stepping backwards in one graceful motion, finally standing behind Lyra as she twists her fingers together, laced behind her head, watching the fight proceed as the combative woman across from him seems to be readying herself.

"Pleasure to meet both of you, and here I thought I'd be placed in a force with cohesive allies... lets not fight, shall we?"

Name:  Linear Leylande [Combat Title: None.]
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Birth Place: Australia.

Appearance / Clothing: A heavy silvery leather coat frequently envelopes her standard-issue combat uniform, a touch of home and a reminder to her goals, quite the companion to her lavender-colored hair, streaking behind her shoulders in a straight flow down to mid-back, parted evenly and precisely, revealing her piercing grey-eyed gaze and sharp facial features, her tall stature accentuating her cool attitude well. approx. height. 1.78 meters.

History / Background: Shortly after her birth in Australia, when Linear was around the age of four or five, the growing tensions between the sharply opposing ideologies of her father and mother inevitably lead to a divide in their relations, her mother gravitating toward and eventually wresting custody of her beloved baby sister, Lyra, while she was stolen away by her father, who promptly transported the two of them to the frigid wastes of southern Greenland, where she was raised as a research assistant, taught in a scientific, methodical manner, indoctrinated daily by her Zeon-supporting father, until finally the fateful day came that she was to be recruited to a new unit on the faraway lunar colony of Side 3, sent there by the wishes of her father, despite her inexperience, so that she would "see the world from above in Zeon's way" so she was told.

The journey was tumultuous and the difficulty she faced adjusting to life in space was never fully surmounted, her preference for cold conditions proved to be a boon to her often poorly heated surroundings, but even so she never let the smiling face of her beloved Lyra leave her mind, etched as it was onto her thoughts as she trudged through each battle, growing more and more determined and precise, learning the technique of keeping her intense emotions cold even in the heat of battle. It wasn't long before she became known as the Icy Reaper, her unique style of battle using a utility crane mounted on her Zaku's left arm to ensnare her foes and draw them in for devastating melee attacks struck fear and admiration in her observers on the battlefield. Those who were fortunate enough to call themselves her allies remarked with what chilling alacrity she seemed to strike, "like frozen death."

As thus, it was inevitable that when news of Australia's destruction at the hands of Zeon malfeasance reached her ears, her heart grew cold with the realization that her father's ideals were a naive dream of a paradise lost to the greed-drowned hearts of their leaders. Zeon would fill the universe with naught but strife, but regardless, bringing them to their knees from the inside out was a possibility that would keep her alive, keep her with Zeon, thinking with a forward direction until her goal was met or her energy exhausted.

Her surprise when she discovered her sister not only survived Australia's demise but was even a pilot for Zeon's forces was beyond description, but only steeled her resolve to join her loved one's similar cause and put an end to the fighting between the two factions once and for all, and realize not the stagnant, nostalgic dream of the past, that of her father, but to carve out a new future, a world she could trust that Lyra would be safe in. Although her actions in battle are only now beginning to warm with the presence of her sister at her side, her idealized impressions of her have not cooled with time, and she exhibits a certain motherly attitude toward her, overprotective and affectionate, quick to act with sometimes impulsive decisiveness to ensure her safety.
