The Lounge / Meet the new guy!

Hey all,

I'm obviously the latest new guy. I've got so say how happy when I discovered this community is actually still so vibrant! At any rate, I'm not really sure where to start but Eternal248 told me to just give a post here. I've already volunteered for Elric and Kokojo's project, which apparently is akin to asking a masochist to teach me restraint.

At any rate, I'm an indie film maker and a local AAA game studio is hiring cinematic designers. One of the things it requests is a video/cutscene submission using some sort of game engine. My skill is rather limited, having only minor experience with the NWN toolset and even less with the Blizzard world editors. In the end I decided I wanted to put a submission in using my favorite game ever, FFT for PSX. My understanding is that I need to learn how to work in-game events. Eternal suggested I use Raven's easyvent editor. Is this the best route I should go? Where should a total noob head to get a start? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a ton!
