I got it to "reliably" reproduce:
When I was full on troops and chose to dismiss one to make room for Cid, it would freeze at the black screen and not move to loading the cutscene. However, dismissing the unit BEFORE the previous save (and thus having an empty spot on my roster) did the trick and it went on without a hitch.

Echoing others, I played this within the last year(?) and it's very good. The characters are fun and interesting, personally it's VERY difficult so be ready for that. But I jump in to say "don't wait". Basically ch1 took FOREVER to finalize and that was WITH the team together. Latest posts show that's no longer the case and ch2 is nowhere near being done. So go play ch1 and just imagine there's no ch2. I think you'll appreciate the time you have with the fun they did!

@CONMAN This is really a fantastic job of bringing in FF6 to the FFT world. As a huge fan of both I'm so happy you got this started/got this far. Of course, I hope work is still being done and I'd love for others to help (I would, simply because I'm a fan of both games, but know nothing about modding).
The one thing I think you could do for it's current state, is start a doc that's basically a guide: layout the battles & maps, put the item/find locations, and list weaknesses or exploits on baddies. It's probably something you mostly have in your head anyways and if it were to make it into a wiki of some sort people could add in what they find. It would be fun and add some replayability.

For others, it's a quick few hours to play through it all so far. There's plenty of chances, if you're smart with FFT battles, to farm some JP (there's no other 'jobs' so far so no reason to worry about job levels).

Ok here's the issue. I changed Leg Aim, Arm Aim and Seal Evil in the Snipe skill sheet. They're editied just how I want them, BUT here's my issue. Even after all the changes when I attack it still says " [ACT sealed]" or "Evil has been sealed in stone". This is the last thing I need to edit from the move. I do not want these little things coming up when I attack . So what do I need to click/unclick in order for that text to stop?
Oh, and yes I'm using FFPatcher.

found the answer: i needed to run the 'decompile' with test.evt in the same fold and viola, worked like a charm.

Great tut. but when I open the folder there is no "PSXevent.txt" sohow do I get them to show?  ?

Ok, that's a good idea, and I did it, but now how do I import it back for the changes to take effect?

Yea I got that, but yes that's a good point. I'll keep that in mind too (but since I work between 2 different locations the flash drive is the way for me right now). Glad it all worked out.

nope, I took those from the "unfished projects" area. Since they said they could be used/finished by anyone I thought they'd be a great starting point. All the sprites I've seen to DL or even unfinished look pretty darn good

that's a good point. I thought it was just me (and the fact that I'm using the files from a network virtual drive). I ended up extracting to a flash drive and it runs just fine from there, never have had to reinstall or anything. I'm sure this would be a little inconvient at home, but maybe it's a good fix for now?

Ok I'm a bit new, but slowly working my way thru some things. Some minor stuff I did in FFTactext was to change job names. Now is there anyway to see those changes in FFTPatcher?
I patched the ISO with tactext, and loaded up the ISO in the patcher but it still says default names for jobs.
I want this so I don't have to constantly cross reference names I've changed and I can simply see them in the patcher.

I'm working on something completely different for a FFT mod/hack, but while I work on the bones of it I need some help with the artistic side. I need these characters done into sprites:

That is actually quite helpful philsov! Now that I'm at home (and when I get time from a pregnant wife/college/work) I'll download just about everything and try to use them. Once things get rolling I'll try to head to mass topics to flesh out the ideas of characters (since I kinda want a few classes for each for different looks and such) and I will definitely need to enlist help for custom sprites, so we'll see how that goes  . Again, more thanks than u know!

Ok I know I'm new, so forgive me a bit, but I made a topic yesterday trying to get some help for a new FFT hack (I want to change the characters to classic/popular game characters to use and change the overall game, but keep the actual battle mechanic/gameplay). However now the topic is locked and I had no responses, so I'm not sure what I did wrong and I still got no help. I'm totally new to hacking just about anything so I know I need to really practice with the downloads and stuff from FFH.com but could I also please get some guidance as to why it was locked and maybe some guidance as to what to do for the hack I'm attempting?
