How much information is there on menu hacking? I'm looking into removing the experience and level values from the menu. The actual images are easy to modify, but the value display code is harder to track down. I'm unfamiliar with the PS1's VRAM or how it handles it, and psxfin's debugger is pretty crappy.

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

A 'hard type' is implied to be a challenge hack, which this really isn't anymore. It's also why calling FFIV "hard type" irritates the hell out of me.
