You have a lot of work ahead of you but I'm very interested to see how this progresses. You have my support man!

You dream big. I like that. I can't believe you're willing to tackle all of this (mostly) without help. Best of luck either way.

This is really, really cool. I have no idea what you intend to do with it, but it's still really cool simply because you made it from the ground up.

I'd love to see where this goes in the future.

Pretty cool how you have the skills worked out, it seems pretty user friendly to create your own abilities.

I have a feeling Barren is going to be my first opponent in R2 (sorry Jumza) and is going to wreck me. That was also an oversight of mine considering I was betting on archers to take the tourney...

Interesting statistics, Gaignun. Thanks for that.

My money is on Barren. It has been since I found out he got Archers (since I figured a SCC Archer team is the best class to have besides maybe Thief since they are the only two teams IMO that are able to stand a chance with regular arena rules as a SCC team. With DomieVs FamousKnights as the other exception I've seen  :P) and is reinforced after seeing his team.

Good luck to everyone.

Hypercam 2 is what I use to record. It's free. Movie maker to edit. Also free.

You can also get excel for free man. You have the internet, use it to your advantage! They even offer free trials on the website for some period of time for the newest version.

My team is basically done for the tourney. Haven't tested it too much but Barren has ran two test matches for me. Killed Lancers and Squires without too much trouble. Not sure how they'll do overall but we'll see. I'm semi-confident considering everyone has to abide by the item restricting rule that gave me so much hassle.

I'm scared of Archers though. My blind vote is on whoever has 'em (Barren?).

Ninjitsu-ton, Shuriken, Jump, Gastrophetes, Houkoton, Asura, Chaos Blade.... You can probably go with both an FS and H bag monk, with two equip X monks. No idea what you'll do for a caster though. Asura and Masamune sounds like a plan though. Regen sounds like a must if you'll have weak revival abillities.
Still haven't started my Samurai team. Going to post back here later today with a finished team. Hard to know where I'm at without knowing where the competition is at.
Going with a caster team named "Four Swords"
Still haven't figured out how to make Murasame and Distribute work.
Even though I fully heal two units with distribute and Murasame, at 8 or 10 speed with haste,  it's not enough.

For samurai I didn't personally care for 4 caster units. I don't think it will work [for me].
I had 2 male and 2 female and that worked pretty well for a while. I decided to change one of my male samurai for another female though simply because I couldn't find a good role for the second male samurai to fill. With the 1x item restriction and all.. I love it for versatility though because it causes everyone to think outside the box when building teams.
Still doing some tweaking on my team currently but when you're done send me what you have and I'll send you my most current and updated version so we can compare/contrast.

@Silentkaster: Equip polearm is great for a fast monk using javelin. Could also go Obelisk for +2 PA (? was is this one) and maybe do jumps or something. Equip heavy blade with the Ragnarock and the other knight sword I can't remember that add either protect or shell for a super tanky grand cross monk? Female monks with time mage work well. Equip range monk with a gun or bow with snipe for long range disables with arm/leg aim and long range breaks. Two swords monk with FS Bag for +2 PA and H Bag for +1 speed and then kagesougi? Or also snipe for double arm aim/breaks.... Lots of ideas man. You'll find something that works for you.

Are you trying to keep it to 2 male 2 female? 4 male? Or what?

I just wanted to say that I absolutely love this and use it very often.

I had a good laugh going back and seeing my self posting on here back in 2013 about not being able to get the file to open. That's when I FIRST started messing around with making teams in arena.

It only took me... two years? after to finally post one here?

I think 4 archers will be very scary. Slightly less so with the 1x item rule to avoid a team full of 11 speed archers. They lack high MA but you can still use status via talk skill and time magic for haste/slow/stop decently well.

Given up on trying to win this tournament with Samurai. Going to instead figure out what type of team(s) I want to gatekeep to make this one more interesting. What would be great to see in grand finals? Mages or melee teams melee?

My only worry is lack of speed and access to speed boosting gear. I still think they have a good chance to do well depending on your builds.

Samurai will be fun. Maybe a little too easy though... I think a team of four samurai have the potetential to be pretty good assuming I build them correctly.
4 caster samurai could be interesting. Prolly will end up with 2 male and 2 female to keep it balanced. Two melee (or PA focused) and two mage (MA focused) units.

Oops, that archer is supposed to be 12 speed and not 13. That must have been an oversight. Maybe I should give him a black hood for higher MP for some more hawk's eye spam. Or should I give a twist headband for slightly higher damage output? What do you guys think? That's the only downside to this team is I don't really have any hard hitters. I think they are fast enough though where that shouldn't matter too too much but they do have trouble finishing a fight against a weakened opponent due to that. Maybe a little higher MA on my time mage to have more damage summons? I'm not sure, really. Other than that they perform well. I have no idea what happened in round 1  :P

Thanks for the match!

I'm excited to start working on my team. I have some pretty decent ideas for teams for whatever class I end up with of my 3. Unfortunately I don't think I'll make the stream tonight though.

Either way I think this is going to be a very fun tourney. I'm looking forward to it.

Do you have hosts Barren? I don't think I can volunteer this time to record matches. But in the future, in a pinch, if you need a few matches done for whatever reason I may be able to fill in at some point.

Would love to see my new team 'Dirty Dozen' in some matches. I think it's the team I plan on focusing on and improving most. I really like the team I just have not had a chance to even test them out yet.

Things are super busy at work right now and I'm unable to record matches for the foreseeable future. Sorry guys. I might try one day to get some matches out next weekend, but no promises.

I've been thinking and want to switch my classes again..

I want to add Archer in there somewhere but not sure which class to get rid of.
Suppose I'll keep what I have for now.

I think I'm gonna put together a team or two today at work just to see some quick ideas of what my teams could possibly end up looking like. Probably nothing I'll end up using but just to get some ideas out there and see how composing a SCC team is since I've never made one. This should be fun.

So should we aim for a 24 player tourney? Or shoot higher?

19 players registered in a matter of like 2 days is pretty damn good so far. What's an ideal number of players for this? How long should we leave registrations open? Maybe another ~15 days? Then have the deadline of team submissions a few days after and get things rolling around mid August.

Super excited for this.

It makes me excited because I know that means Ch2 is right around the corner  :P

Ban Mimes. Sorry. The idea of having 1 per team with a forced secondary of your primary class isn't a terrible idea but they really do take away from the spirit of a "SCC" tournament.
