DW summed it up pretty well. Innocent shut down the casters shutting down all support.

OP Bow aside, Andante's team is a lot more optimized than yours DW. Multi element absorb with a lot of synergy between each unit. Really good stuff.

Ninja

Barren's call on Hidden + Platina is better than double platina since it should do more damage than double platina proc with just base damage.
Dual Cutter + Platina + Concentrate
Hidden + Platina + Attack UP works too.
Use as much JP as possible in passive abilities since it's rare to get your accessory stolen. Twist Headband, Green Beret, or Black Hood would also work better than flash hat too.

Archer
Ice Bow healing imo is best with Jade Armlet since that accessory is immune to stop. The ninja has salty rage so I'd recommend switching to Windslash Bow. You get a spec that is also wind based, and does a set amount of damage. She'll also be able to heal the chemist since he has defense ring.

Chemist could probably go with Basic Skill, Attack UP, and a Gun and get the same results without the faith. Throw Stone = Sinkhole. Gun + Attack UP = Comet since it hits 100% of the time and is WP*WP. If you go with that set up go with Green Beret or Thief Hat.

Nice the return of the battle royale series.

Lots of 2-0s. Guess Caster Chix with all Chix is too strong.

You have some of the most innovative teama Andrew. Mime is just hard to use since there's so much that can go wrong just by having one one your team.

Could do a collab team if you want to get you started on mime.

Was still over the cap? Guess I lost my touch in making teams without the generator. Thanks for the fix and vid Truelight.

Unorthodoxed Status Mime vs Balanced Team
I made this team with little status protection in mind so I'm interested in seeing how this plays out. Good to see someone else using mediator/Steal too. It's a great combo for status. Second to only Mime/Draw Out.

R1 - Pretty even start. Didn't realize I only had two units with revival so seeing the squire go down early got me worried. Both teams seem to do little damage, but Reks has the advantage due to having decapitate and status. Managed to win the round due to Raise being superior to phoenix down.

R2 - Bad start for me for sure. Slow and Frog cripple two of my units early. After Andrew's mime went down it all came down to the mediator getting off some charms or the Scholar frog proccing my scholar. It never came up though.... Almost got sweeped by a solo decap paladin. Thank you berserk evasion.

GG. Surprised to see two low damage teams from two usually high offense players.

Andrew I recommend giving the mime another secondary so it's in position to mimic the other teammates. Item Mime only gets in range for melee attacks. Try giving the mime a secondary with the same range as most of his or her teammate's abilities. Try to keep it within 1 range of teammate abilities. 3 Range Mime + 4 Range team mates (Talk Skill Mime + Slow 2, Stop, Tornado/Quake, etc), Melee Mime + 1-2 range units (polearms, grand/southern cross, guns and crossbows, Punch Art, Kagesougi, Houkouton, etc)

GL Made me want to work on my two swords mime team.

Balanced vs High SP Ranged
Got into the stream midway into R2. Thought I'd lose since I forgot high SP was a thing. Just saw it on YouTube though. Didnt know I won r1.

R1 - Reks would've had a better chance if the archers weren't next to each other. Just move one of the archers to unit 3 or 4 so they dont rush into death with each other.

R2 - Thief got taken down early and the speed differences came into play.

R3 -Intense round. Went back and forth, but Reks's squire being disabled combined with both archers always being together made things in my favor due to the aoe. Sickest combo at the end btw.

GG. Did every rogue attack activate repel knife's effect? Rng gods welcoming me back.

Didn't think of jump counting as one move. Ah well. Good stuff dominating the team. Haven't figured out how to optimize weapon mime yet. Found some abilities will also unequip mime. Jump doesn't as far as I've seen, but Punch Art does. Time Magic, White, Black, Summon Magic, Lore, and  maybe all spell casting won't unequip mimes also.

Thanks for the match silentkaster.

Spoilering until I test out left handed mimes more. Two Hands doesn't unequip mimes but some abilities and maybe shields might(?).

2016, Year of the mime

Left Handed Mimes
It's been over a year since 139 came out and everyone learned about mime's weapon bugs. It's also known that mimes can use shields in their left hand. Realizing this, I went and found out mimes can also equip weapons the same way they equip shields, in their left hand.

Attack Command
A mime will attack with his or her fist if they choose to attack over an ability. They will keep their weapon however, so no crippling issue there.

One Handed Weapons Only
Since the weapon must be equipped in the left hand it goes without saying having a weapon that uses the right hand will cause the mime to lose it's weapon.

Teammates must be right handed.
The main reason this will work. It probably works both ways, but it's been confirmed units don't get the full benifits of a weapon's evasion if it's in the left hand. Mimes have a lot of base evasion to spare so it's best to just have the mime left handed.

Teammates can not use Forced 2H weapons
Knight Swords
Stone Gun
Magic Guns
Gastrophetes
Longbow weapon class

Two Swords and Berserk Bug
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkm96eFjVtE
It's not known exactly why this happens, but as far as I can tell berserked and/or weapon mimes mimicking two sword units will cause a mime to equip abilities thus rendering them useless depending on their secondary. The bug looks like a round shield and feather hat equipped in the main and offhand slots. If berserked the mime's attack command becomes a bugged ability graphic that will never actually connect with a target. If the mime isn't berserked it will always wait if they don't have any ability options.

Two Hands
As long as the weapon is equipped in the right hand it will not bug the mime. Samurai, Two Hand Thieves, Two handed Slashers are all fair game.

Multiple Mimes
The mime equipping other mime's weapon bug still applies. See The Damned's post for more details
Having a mime on on the same team as a weapon mime will equip that mime with said weapon. This opens new possibilities since it'll be possible to have 3 of the same type of weapon on one team without breaking rules.
As long as the team follows the rules above neither mime will lose their weapon

Enemy Mimes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lxbkphFpxw
I haven't tested this yet, but I'm guessing the first mime to use an ability involving their weapon will equip other mimes on the field with said weapon.  I'll confirm this later
Having a Grand Cross Mime equip a non-compatible weapon will be suicidal for the mime so know the risks in using some mime builds.

Charm
If a weapon mime gets charmed they have a chance of losing their weapon if the opposing team uses weapons listed above. Chakra Band prevents this, but it's still good to know.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't take the AI tournament like I wanted to this year, but it's looking like this year will be better for mime with this find. Good Luck to everyone using weapon mimes from this point on. Have a good mimeingful new year
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unarmed Teammates Update
Having an unarmed unit will trigger the two sword/berserk bug as well. I had a martial arts, cover fire monk activate the bug in a test match. After giving the same monk an FS Bag and putting him in the same situation multiple times the mime would no longer lose it's monster dictionary.

I love the idea of an elemental MP damage weapon Gaigun. It would go above and beyond what I suggested since it would open up even more possibilities with absorb teams and grand cross. Imagine having a MP disrupting, MP healing, grand cross unit. So much potential. Sounds more fun everyone testing healing staff.

Reks imagine a berserked MP damage unit for a moment. Even more terrifying if it's two sword or two handable. Would the AI attack the same unit since berserk is supposedly based on attacking the nearest unit until death, or would it instead attack units that don't have 0 MP? Definitely interested in finding out.

Also I'd like some input on this guide posted in the AI Team Building thread. It's about my new find for mimes and 100% avoiding the mime weapon mime bug.

Only tested one battle, but Mime may be able to use weapons after all.

With equip weapon, have the mime equip a weapon in it's off hand. The mime won't lose the weapon as long as no one else in the party has a weapon in the same slot meaning no two swords or two handed units.

Hidden Knife, Javelin, Books, xA*WP abilities... 2015 was supposed to be the year of the mime, but it's looking like 2016 will be that year instead.
-----------------
I've tested and confirmed mimes can use weapons successfully. I already spoilered the post in the balance discussion thread so I won't post it here, but the post is in the AI team building guide if anyone's interested in exploring mime even further.
Thanksfor doing another match with "A Bad Time" Barren.

Steal Accessory, xA Save, Charm
This was actually more of a counter than putting the team up against a lightning absorb team. Never seen a team get so dismantled lol. Definitely an eye opener.

Read The Damned's post if you want to know more about mime.
http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=7896.0

Mime positioning is crucial for most abilities to be mimicked correctly. Have your mime and other units abilities have about the same range.

70 Brave Mime - Will use attack when in range
Secret Fist

Talk Skill - Has 3 range so the AI will easily use the mime's position.
Steal - Steal Heart, Speed Ruin also have 3 range.
Draw Out - Koutetsu
Snipe - Cover Fire

Having the  mime go before the units you want it to mimic is best. You can get a mime to 9-10 speed easily with equip shield for zephyr shield with sprint shoes. Also yes mimes can use shields without unequipping.

Mage Masher - 12 WP, MP Damage Only, +1 SP, No 2s No 2h
Bizen Boat - 14 WP, MP Damage Only, +1 MA or PA, Forced 2h, No 2s, No 2h

Really just want a MP Damage only weapon in 140. Give it the same high WP that Healing Staff got, but not have it extremely exploitable with Dual Wield, Kagesougi and Snipe.
Would be a great weapon for PA*WP abilities like Southern Cross

Immobile, Mime/Chivalry vs Dance/Status Mime
Mime on Mime. Mobile vs Immobile. DPS vs Status.

R1 - Thanks for the theme Truelight. Neutral Start looks like Reinoe has the advantage due to two units having Auto Potion. Reinoe doesn't have chakra either? I know first hand you can't outheal Sans if you can't avoid his attacks, and none of these attacks are evadable. Never could get the Scholar to use Carbunkle in tests. The way things were going I thought I'd get to see the special attack round.

R2 - My units start off seperated so Reinoe should have a better time with this map. Sans went out early due to not getting any distributes off. Pretty amazed to see the team take out three units without him. 1HP 1 MP Monk was meta as hell.

R3 - Not sure who will win here. 6 minutes of fighting means anything could happen. I didn't notice until now that most, if not all of Reinoe's damage gets canceled out by Thunder Flare.

GG. No special attack or dunking, but gg overall.

Thanks again Truelight.
I'm on 8 tries atm. Send Help.

Took 29 tries. Regret

---------------------------
Hope everyone's having a good December. Trying to make a good Cheer Song mime team, and MBarrier mime team named Mighty Guard. Anyone know when becomes impossible for a unit to use Cheer Song? By impossible I mean when the AI gets a turn before Cheer Song activates.

Didn't know I had a match recorded until recently. Good stuff Barren.
Mime Boosting vs Defensive Mime
Mime on Mime violence. No one wins these.

R1 - Didn't get to see much of CT5's team in action. AoE shut it down at the start.
R2 - CT5's has the addvantage here since his mime team isn't as crippled by map size and vertical. Plus he gets quickening at the start. Brutal match for me since the team got seperated pretty badly. Wall mime looks preddy decent though.
R3 - CT5's favor again due to the map. Really close game that really all came down to my team getting seperated and charm.

GG.

------------
Thanks for the marathon Truelight

Wind vs Holy
R1 - 4v2, still lost. GG Hawk's Eye.
R2 - 400+ Damage AoE. No coming back from that with just a Paladin.
R3 - Highlight of the match is  around 1:36:00. Turns into another 4v2 and still lost. RIP.

GG. Geomancy Mime is so bad.

Didn't think the team would get 2-0'd, and I definitely didn't think it'd be that dominating. Charm was a huge factor of course, but the reason I lost in round 2 was most likely due to the Archer wasting turns on head break instead of going for turn wasting abilities like Hawk's eye or Arm Aim.

Time to comment on the videos I watched.
With so many new and returning plays you did a good job in recording so many of these at once Andrew. Thanks a lot bro.

High Speed vs AOE
Interesting match up. I'm a fan of heavy aoe teams like Ban Hammer. CT5Holy should have the advantage on large and medium sized maps. Hopefully Barren gets to play on a small map or decent medium sized map though. Andrew's map order favors teams with range and AoE more.

R1 - Great map for CT5 Holy. Barren got put on the defensive hard. Strong Bio 2 too. Great to see that spell get some usage. Dominating round.

R2 - RIP another large map. No contest here.

GG. Would've at least probably had a round 3 with a small map. Ban Hammer and any All target spell team is too strong with your map size selection Andrew

Balanced Team vs Cover Fire
I'm a fan of cover fire and Truelight teams more than I'm a fan of balanced teams. I do think Rouroni has the advantage here thouh. He has charm and he should be able to take out that summoner easily.

R1 - Counter Magic Shiva into 400 damage Gallet Gun. Domination followed.
R2 - cool 216 Cover Fire. I think Martial Arts Monk + Cover Fire would be better. Not really a fair round since Saiyans grow stronger with every battle. Truelight didn't do well in R1 so he definitely didn't have a shot against the stronger saiyans in R2.

GG.

Innocent.... Looks like a struggle. I won't count myself out since it's a near 13 minute video.
R1 - Man, my team held in there when I didn't want it to. Was hoping this would be a three round battle, but since this round took so long it looks like a two rounder. I knew Refute would be a problem, but not this much. Would've been better if she had attempted more sleeps and charm instead.
R2 - Close round, but it came down to the mediator against the archer. The ONLY way she could've won this is if she kept him charmed and slept and built herself up to 20+ speed and bagged him to death.

Good Game. I knew the mediator would cause a problem sooner or later. I'll definitely fix her up as soon as I can.

Great matches. Requesting a fight for Really Bad Breath while I update Lockdown. I thought about just giving the mime cover fire as seen in fallenstarz's team, but I don't want to miss out on masamune, bizen boat, and murasame. Making the mediator fit in seems like a challenge.

FFT Arena / Re: Arena battle videos and discussion
December 04, 2015, 09:16:05 am
But the only reason I lost the first round was due to the map making it a borderline 3v4 or 3.5v4 due to mimic being nearly impossible to position due to all the empty panels. Charm turned it into 2.5v5 at best too lol. No shame in losing to mime. I don't think a rematch would be much different since I think I have the advantage on medium and large maps while your team should be able to destroy mines on a smaller.

Also for evasion. Mantles don't cover the front and sides right? I only gave the mediator awareness due to her having an H Bag and mainly being a charm and sleep bot. Didn't want her to waste turn refuting herself with the finger guard reaction. Not sure how to update the team since it was put up against a death sentence unit/team. Can't wait for another match.

Mime/Draw Out vs High speed
Looks like Barren will have the advantage on smaller maps. Slow and charm will be the deciding factor imo.
R1 - One of the worst maps for mimic. Early charm on my Samurai on top of the speed advantage made this unwinnable. RIP.
R2 - Shiva caused a lot of wasted turns for Barren, not that it mattered that much due to his speed advantage. Pretty sloppy on both sides imo. Didn't notice the death sentence mime.
R3 - Good start for Barren , but lucky awareness comes through for the mediator twice keeping me in the match. My mimic damage kept the the turn advantage even.

GG.  Definitely not a fluke since I had awareness to cover side and frontal attacks. Definitely going to consider changing 108 gems to either genji or magic gauntlet

Dragonblade seems to have the advantage due to being more versatile, but fallenstarz has a mime. I never bet against mime, even if it's mime on mime.

R1 - Looked like Dragonblade was off to a great start, but the water 2, mimic, earth slash combo for the triple kill. Pretty brutal.

R2 - loving the 2 move lancer and I think Dragon Whisker's a better investment for large and medium sized maps. Loving the snipe mime with cover fire for black magic positioning. A shame about the time mage..... No MP restoration? WELP!

R3 - Cover Fire uses MP, but the Monk still uses quickening? Looks like I'm going to have to test more mime builds because I thought quickening and other buff/attribute abilities weren't usable if the mime had MP spending abilities. Great round for fallenstarz. Dragonblade's bad mobility lined him up perfectly for cover fire and water 2.

GG. Definitely going to try out a cover fire mime in the near future.

Good stuff CT5. I forgot today's date. Too much worrying about Cloud in Smash bros and Mcgregor vs Aldo.

Does anyone know if Really Bad Breath had a match before? I've only caught up on matches uploaded to youtube so I wouldn't know if they had a match on stream. Welcome back Dol.
----------
I'll need to see Lockdown against a team that doesn't use death sentence. This is the second win against barren where I won due to Gold Armor. Not my fault though since everyone knows the risk you take when you use death sentence. Chakra Band with silence and petrify protection is too good to pass up.
