Here's something I came up with. Needs some polishing though:

I've seen many creatures in my life. The kinds of monsters and beasts I've encountered in my travels with St. Victor have been too numerous to count. But nothing prepared me for the sight I witnessed in Lionel Castle. It was a demon of unimaginable horror.

Apparently born of the auricite, it invoked within me awe and a crushing fear...

That, I don't know. It can always be tested though.

If what happens to Agrias in one of my recent Rendezvous matches is any indication, they fall off the chocobo. Not sure how the game determines which side the unit falls on, but they do fall off the chocobo.

Damn poachers...

What's up Mega? I see you're still editing save files after all of this time. It's going to be a year soon, right?

I got it in September of '01 from a Game Express store. I was so glad they re-released it as a Greatest Hits title because I wanted it for awhile by then. I just wasn't willing to pay around $100 for a copy.

Can't believe I walked that far though. Then again, I've done much, much longer walks since then...

Couldn't think of a title for this one, so "Gariland Military Academy" is a sort of placeholder. It's for the event that takes place there.

Gariland Military Academy

Having left the Order of the Northern Sky and feeling hopelessly lost after the tragedy at Ziekden, I found myself questioning my own purpose in life. Still, I drifted back to the Gariland Military Academy, having nowhere else to go. It was there that I met a young sellsword named Rad, who was an apprentice to Gafgarion, a well known mercenary and an ex-Eastern Sky commander. They were hired to find and eliminate a group of brigands who attacked a prominent apothecary recently. When the group was spotted trying to escape town, Gafgarion and Rad gave chase. I decided to accompany them, feeling a mysterious sense of excitement fill me.

Lasting Dawn, are you going to use the PS1 or the PSP names for the knightly orders?

Anyways, let me know what you think of this one.

*Edit: Replaced the PS1 names of the knightly orders with the PSP version names.

Did you alter the ISO in any way beforehand?

I must concur on FFIV DS. FFIV is one of my favorite FF's and the DS version may be the best yet. Augments are just great and put an interesting spin on the battle system.

Draw Attacks + Counter + Cecil = Wins against most minor enemies.

I'm considering cheating to get the Onion Equipment and the Adamant Armor though. The chances that enemies drop the Tails are just too damn low.

Over 100 battles and all have to show for it is one Pink Tail...

Lasting Dawn, I know I said I was going to write up another event summary, but I'm not sure what I've come up with is an accurate summary of the events that occurred. It's supposed to be a summary of the event at the Gariland Military Academy and the following battle.

If you want, I can still post it up.

Here's the other, based on the battle in Sweegy Woods. BTW, nice vid of the battle, Voldemort.

A Surprise Evening Melee

As I searched Sweegy Woods for suitable kindling for a campfire, I came across a Dragoon and a group of armed fighters. The Dragoon informed me that a melee battle was about to take place and that the sole survivor would win prizes. I was surprised when he told me that I would be a participant as well. I attempted to call for help, but the Dragoon bluntly stated that I would be killed on the spot if I did. Reluctantly, I took part in the battle and won. Afterward, I questioned myself for getting caught in such a situation, and wondered about the zeal of the participants in this bloodsport.

LastingDawn, I've gotten two events down that could be a part of Ruglia's Records. If I'm thinking correctly, it's basically composed of summaries of each event, similiar to the ones found in the Brave Story/Chronicles of the vanilla game. I hope I haven't misunderstood your intentions there though.

Here's a sample:

Mysterious Swordmaiden

While traveling through Mandalia Plains, we chanced upon a woman named Lavian being attacked by a group of brigands. Though Gafgarion wanted to simply cut down the rogues and continue on our way, Rad wanted to save the woman. A brutal battle ensued, in which Lavian showed herself to be skilled with a sword. After the brigands were dispatched and noting how dangerous it was to travel alone, Gafgarion offered Lavian a chance to join us.

Wasn't sure what to call the enemy in that battle, so "brigand" is just a placeholder of sorts.

I guess I should've put spoilers, but it doesn't really have an effect on the storyline per se, so...

Anyways gojoe answered your question about Cuisses.

Gotta agree with you on the female Dark Elf and Queen Rogue sprites.

Poor Liane...

At least you can get her back after ending the game if you want. Though it involves a bit of a sidequest to do so.

Anyways, there's no way to alter save data on a PC to my knowledge. Though I do think any sprite changes can be saved. If you want, you can upload the save, and then I can mod it and upload it again.

Unfortunately, at the moment, I only know how to change Jeanne's sprite. I'll look into changing other characters though.

Heh, Cuisses...

It's a shame about the events that led to him being in the party though. Thanks for dredging up bad memories   ...

Ahem. I mean... * looks around and clears throat nervously*

Unforunately, you definitely need CFW to use any code. There's no Codebreaker/Gameshark type of device for the PSP, so you'll need CWCheat to use any codes. Also, there's no sprite changing codes for Jeanne D'Arc out there that I'm aware of. I searched in vain for such a thing last December...

Which is why I used another cheat program to find it myself, and after a tedious half hour of fishing through codes, I found one that changes Jeanne's sprite. I haven't bothered to test whether NPC sprites work, but I can look into it and get back to you about that.

But now that I think about it, I actually want to play it again.

Yup.

Extract the fftpack.bin file from the ISO using UMDGen v4.00. Use FFTPatcher to extract all of the game files from the fftpack file. The sprite files are in the BATTLE folder. Replace whatever sprite(s) you wish. When you're finished, use the FFTPatcher to rebuild a new fftpack.bin and insert that fftpack.bin file into the ISO using UMDGen.

Hope that helps.
