I like how Barren matches up teams.
Laptop kicked the bucket today. Never got to submit my updated teams. Just wanted to fish trout and kill chickens. I'll be back in a month.

Bad Match up. Overlooked Doku's team in the submission thread. I like his dual cutter and lionheart units. Just too much of an overwhelming match up to comment.

Never seen my team lose this bad. I'll have to rework the team again to combat buffed statii like stop and innocent. GG RNG. AI did a great job in picking off the only two units with revival abilities

Not a fan of 100% innocent on so many weapons. Especially on a bow with high elevation. Two well executed teams, but still ended in a slaughterfest. Ninjitsu and Innocent combo remind me of old 1.3 tournaments. Thieves, throw, innate concentrate, mobility and tanking ability. Nerf Otabo

I get really flustered when silentkaster's team makes a huge comeback by pincering my units. Don't know if you intentionally made your team to thrive in A B A B and BAAB formations, but if you did, good stuff. The comeback on the church map was disgusting. 

Been meaning to rewatch Power Rangers up to the end of the white ranger arc (ninja or zeo?) to prepare for the season 1 movie remake coming out in 2016. Green Ranger best ranger. Never watched super sentai going to watch the first season soon though.(Maybe not that much of the Power Rangers now that I think about it. 90s shows and their 80 episodes per season)

Not enjoying innocent being 100%, but I'm not hating it. I get to bring back my anti caster team FFEleven probably thanks to it.

Not a fan of random stat procs on a weapon. It's always a problem when RNG conveniently adds the perfect status for the situation. Kagesougi should never be on a weapon. For the Gastrophetes, I could see it being the Gold Staff or Chaos Blade of crossbows. It could have the exact same stats, but with the 100% dispel effect. It's the most fitting effect for the weapon historically.

Gastrophetes: 16 WP, 0 W-EV, 5 Range, Force Two-Hands
Gastrophetes: 16 WP, 0 W-EV, 4 Range, Force Two-Hands, 100% Cancel on hit: All positive statii


For Bowgun in 139 exclusively, I've tested to see if it worked using 8 female units with worst compat and tanking gear. 20 something attacks in and everyone was still wearing armor. So it's broken in the literal sense at the moment.
I don't agree with your auto crossbow suggestion in the slightest either. Seems like an easy way to benefit from 25% Haste. Archer has a default speed of 9, Paired with +3 from your Auto Crossbow, and Zephyr Shield and we're looking at an easy 12 speed from hand equipment alone. +3 Speed with Haste. You could even get 15 speed with Secret Clothes, Thief Hat, and Sprint shoes. On anything but a cramped map like the pub, and you could have a 16 speed unit with +4 from haste from a song or quickening. That's a bit ridiculous having 20 speed in the first turn. Ridiculous.

For Bowgun, I do agree on it being reworked and renamed. I recommended having a tactical-like crossbow with +move and jump in a previous post. When I read "Auto Crossbow" I think of rapid fire. When I think rapid fire I think of the dual cutters.  Giving BowGun or "Auto Crossbow" the old 1.3 proc sounds a lot less harmful than a 50% armor break since that's permanent damage, and an extra attack. Suggestions

Bow-Gun --> Auto-Crossbow: 7-8 WP, 0% W-EV, 4 Range 50% Chance of Extra Attack

Bow-Gun --> Scout's Crossbow: 8 WP, 0% W-EV, 4 Range +1 Move, + 1 Jump
Bow-Gun --> Scout's Crossbow: 8 WP, 0% W-EV, 5 Range +1 Move, + 1 Jump



Clothes definitely the worst melee weapon class at the moment. Not only because of the horrible stats that can be dispelled, but because Dancers can use superior weapons.

Persia: 12 WP, 10 W-EV, 2 Range Initial: Protect
Cashmere 12 WP, 10 W-EV, 2 Range Initial: Shell
Ryozan Cloth 12 WP, 10 W-EV, 2 Range Initial: Reflect

(Wouldn't Hurt to give a cloth speed and haste since it's 2hand.

I watched Iron Monkey recently after many years and thought about giving a cloth 3 range. Then I realized giving it knockback would be just as good or even more powerful. Heck 100% Knockback wouldn't hurt. [joke]Maybe give cloth a boost from Martial Arts?[/joke]

What's the point in keeping bowgun in the game if it has no use? Having armor break isn't overpowered in the slightest, but maybe the percentage could be lowered to 33%. The proc can still be blocked right? Why not go the long bow route and give it more range and move? Maybe a tactical crossbow. Same stats, but move, jump, and 5 more W-Ev.

Gastrophetes needs a WP or range buff. It's a 2 handed crossbow that can do less damage than a one hander with a genji shield. Giving it 5 range or an additional 1-2 WP seems fair when you look at the damage.

Wasn't expecting a good outcome out of it. Even though it's the third version of my team it's the first 139 version. Removed a Ninja unit for a berserker unit. Going to drop cursed rings on this team since innocent is no longer on flash hat. I'll have it down by MV most likely. Wrecked.

@ Otabo I thought about reflect mail and cursed ring but that leads to mobility issues. Shameful display against that team. Easy 9-1 match up. Might as well have been titled "how not to use cursed ring" rip

Fun fight as expected. Thanks for the vid. The success rate sometimes feels like old 1.3028. RNG aside, It would've been more interesting if silentkaster's team had raise 1 as well. I wonder what'll be the new cursed ring/flash hat combo to make undead teams last past the opening turns.


One sided but a lot of potential from fenire's team. Interesting weapon choice on the ninja. 350+ damage what was it.. rime bolt? Ridiculous. The set was just a glimpse of what's to come with the new faith and innocent weapons paired with oil.

The first two rounds were all RNG. Was really interested in seeing what Barren's Samurai could do while conscious with Snipe). Third round could've went either way, but berserking favored Barren's team and it was curtains after silentkaster's started retreating and cornering themselves.


Incredibly bad match up and to top of it all the stages didn't help the paladin's lack of mobility and range. Test Knights would've done better on smaller and flatter stages.


(lol move pun) Great match. Would've been better if it weren't for the lancer.

Really want to see Reinoe's new mime team against a slow team. Utilizes the Mime weapon bug really well.

Had a PA boosted Mime with a Save the Queen equipped. It got stuck using a harp for several turns because everyone else was either sleeping or paralyzed. That's not supposed to happen is it? So far whenever he copies a normal attack it gets stuck with someone elses weapon never to use his own.

I don't know why, but even in 138, the team will not attack a unit unless its don't act or sleeping. Only happens when another unit with don't act or sleep is next and there's a speed or unit advantage. It fits the theme and it is only a problem when its against low faith, and projectile guard units. So many wasted turns.

Could we keep phoenix blade and, like the new Masamune, replace always slow and immunity to haste with the same negatives to speed? Minus 4 to 6 speed sounds balanced. It was a really good singing sword. Bard always got cheer songs off without wasting turns recasting. You're also affected by slow more.

Getting back into arena recently and I was beginning to lose my way until I read this. I forgot about sticking to a plan or theme. I kept trying to make my team balanced by adding in unnecessary tools.
Pretty embarrassing to have a team you made in 30 minutes, themed after the power rangers best an uncapped JP limit team that's supposed to counter teams with no strength.

It wasn't even a green or white ranger team. Just a s1 red ranger team. To be honest I didn't realize melee units needed 4 move even though I chose geomancer as the red ranger for his mobility. I'm going to post that team after the update if I don't have to change anything like equipment.

Is the JP limit still 3000? Why do some teams cap near 5000 JP?

Grand Finals was sick by the way. The first set was extremely one sided in the underdog's team favor.
