FFT+ / Re: FFT: Plus Bug topic
August 12, 2011, 07:18:01 am
In terms of FFT working on the PSP, it is the ASM hacking that PSP doesn't like. I tried playing PW and I ran into the same problems as well! I run 3.72 m33-3, which tends to run most games. I suppose the best solution is to play it on your computer! Also FDC and ET gave mean more comprehensive reason why it wouldn't work, but I have forgotten it!

The Lounge / Favoutite R/S/M abilities
August 11, 2011, 03:51:48 am
Hi All,

Just like my other topic, what are your favourite R/S/M abilities and why? I think this will help all gamers out, as it might give them an insight to what other people use!!

The Lounge / Favourite Primary and Secondary Abilities
August 11, 2011, 03:49:42 am
Hi All,

I was wondering what everyone favourite primary and secondary abilities are from FFT and its patches. I have recently started using Black Magic/Draw Out combination and really loved it! (Never had much time for a Samurai, as I loved using Ninjas!!)

I initially just used to use a mish mash of abilities and didnt really think of skill multipliers or Zodiac compatabilty. Back in the day I was always partial to using an Archer with Break abilities!!

The Lounge / Re: FFT's on iOS (Release Date 8/4)

I was umming and erring whether to buy the game (currently have it on my PSP) but I think I might wait until they do an update. It's a shame that they have had so long to sort out the game and yet it's still sub standard. I am also surprised the game has sold millions and yet there has never been a sequel for it. Whats all of-that about?

The Lounge / Re: Why do you like FFT?

I love it because othe customability of the job system. The combinations you can have are fantastic, an when a little combo come off, I go all warm and fuzzy inside. It also take me back to my childhood when I was playing SRPG like Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds and Champions of Krynn. Use to love my DnD action!

PSX FFT Hacking / Re: ALMA 3: previewability 0.1
July 06, 2011, 08:40:35 am
Thank you Pokey!!
I will try this out tonight along with a few other things. I love that we can give items different attributes etc. Also I think in terms of event editing, I would love to have the time to tinker with the program and learn the fundamentals of it and try to create something!! It's the real world commitments (job, family etc) that take precedent in many peoples lives. Though any opportunity I get, I am working on shishi or using the patcher or now going to be playing ALMA!!

Once again thank you for your help!

Pokey,

Fantastic program, looks all nice and pretty (and there are some shiny parts as well). Since I am not the best at all in understanding the hex values etc, can I ask you for a massive favour? Can you give a step by step example of changing something in ALMA and the applying it to the patch? Obviously, this can be at the bottom of your to-do list! Thanking you in advance :-)

PSX FFT Hacking / Re: FFTPatcher needs some lurve
June 28, 2011, 08:52:27 am
Hi All,
I like the FFT patcher, after 10 min tutorial, you can really start using the program and making changes to the simple things in the game. I suppose that just shows the level of my ability. I love to get a better understanding of all ASM and Hex editing, but the constraints of a young family, time is a massive factor. Not only that, I would also to Event Edit. I have seen the results in all matter of different patches and it's just fantastic. I suppose at what i am trying to get at is, if you can make a program that is easy to use, then more people contributing. I am currently making my d&d lolpatch. Now if I could get a Drizzt sprite, it would be happy days!!

Help! / Re: Support Modding
June 28, 2011, 08:33:10 am
Cheers guys,
I have been following ALMA, just haven't downloaded the program and to try and tinker with it. Might do so over the weekend. There are plenty of dud RSM's in the game that I would love to change. Thank you for your advice.

Help! / Support Modding
June 24, 2011, 08:45:13 am
Hi all,

I was curious... Is there away to change support skills. For example, instead of equip shield, I can have an ability that gives me plus one to range instead. Eg. Wave fist can hit from 4 blocks away! Or even a sword slash can from 2 blocks away. Obviously, the actual skills can be altered with the patcher, I thought that this might be a good idea. Saying that, it's probably all hard coded and won't work anyway!

Cheers Argy

Yeah, same thing used to happen to me. I suggest you do as General says and try shorter words. Alternatively, save often!! Just in case something does go wrong it's not that bad!!
235
That would breat news if he could release an editor, how would I decide which game to play.... ah the decisions. No More laws and playing as a Judge would be great!!

On another note, why is Jon [BANHAMMERED]?

FFT: Parted Ways / Re: FFT: Newtype (Revival)
October 17, 2010, 04:29:20 pm
Wow,
Looks like a lot of planning and forethought has gone into the new newtype. I look forward to playing it when its completed. Are you also going to change the items around as well? Or keep them the same? Also cant wait to see your monsters!
Good luck

Mickey,
I have the same configuration as you and its still slower than my psx version from 10 years ago! You notice in on the swordskills soooooo much. Nothing like waiting a couple of minutes for dark sword to work!
But if yours is working at speed then thats great for you, i am a touch jealous!

Hacking/Patching Tools / New patcher?
October 13, 2010, 12:00:15 pm
Hi All,

I was just curious when a, or if a, new patcher will be coming out? I love 475 soooo much and I have lost countless hours honing my patch and then only to realise, there are problems with animations, or spelling mistakes and then going through the whole process of fixing them again!! Which I absolutely love.

Also another query, if a new patcher came out, what would you love to see on it? What features would you like to see enhanced and how/why etc?

Also I can reiterate how much respect I have to everyone in the community who contribute so much (sprites, patches etc) and expect so little. Thank you for making my life that extra bit rosier!!

Cheers Argy

Old Project Ideas / Re: Patch Proposals/Ideas Thread
October 10, 2010, 04:51:52 am
I love guns as well! I used some of the empty slits on my WoTL iso to make more guns. I used Vincent's guns from FFVII. So there is nothing cooler than running around with a Death Penalty. I really like your idea about forcing 2 hands etc. I have also played with the range as well. Short barrell has a small range but has an AoE, like a shotgun.  If you get it finished, would it be great if you released you ppf. I love playing with item palettes of the guns as well!
