Pretty awesome. ^-^ I play the PSX FFT on my PSP since I don't like emulating it on the PC. ;x So now I (and other PSP players) have easy ways to record what we're up to. :3

Not sure how compatible these are with my firmware since I haven't tested. :x
If anybody knows more current methods, do share.

Hmm, I think I can make it work with the original FFT palette while still keeping the pale skin on the face. I didn't put too much effort into the neck yet,color-wise, so thanks for catching me on that early. :o

When I get a better income. n_n; It takes a lot of effort to take care of it at that length, since black relaxed hair requires extra aid to keep straight. I've come into a lot more important expenses lately, so I had to do it. :c

I was great at the 'emo' look. XD

Hmm, to me transparent makes me imagine the unit is a ghost. Maybe you can make use of the evil/dark-looking status to represent the unit's soul missing. I haven't taken a look at this status effect myself to see exactly what it looks like, so take that suggestion with a grain of salt.

I definitely am. :o A specific tutorial would be nice too. I don't know how you're able to alter the graphics without being able to extract them. Unless there's an extractor floating around that I don't know about, which seems very possible. As for hex editing graphics, I've never had to do that. Only used Hex Workshop for game savestates, so a tutorial would be needed there. x_x

I'm very interested in the fact that you were able to control the sounds and how a unit reacted to the spell. D=

Why is it that my posts here seem to come across as unclear? I did not say less than 100% hit rate. I'm talking about variable healing.

Anyway, that wiki page is so much more helpful than the patcher. The formula's list there should have what spells are linked to it, just like that.

Nanoflare's formula, 5F, is replaceable since I've changed the spell. The formula I'm looking for would be something like this:

HealHP_F(MA*(Rdm{Y...X})) HealMP_F(MA*(Rdm{Y...X})/2)  (Add Status 100%) and, of course, the heal never misses as stated earlier. A random number between and including the values of Y and X would be chosen as the multiplier for the heal. If possible, I'd like this to not harm undead but I'm fine if that's unworkable only one of my characters will have access to this spell while the only other units to use it are enemies.

I'm also looking to combine the drain formulas so that a player can steal a  certain amount of HP and MP.

As for movement spells, the posters have already come up with many interesting ideas. Since this game doesn't use things like agility or dodge-locking, I can't give much input. That is, unless you're interested in the dodge-locking mechanic:

The player or enemy with the most Agility (or SP in FFT terms) can hold all players trying to walk by it. Players trying to escape that hold next turn may likely not be able to move (and their turn ends instantly if they try) unless their holder's speed is lessened or their own speed is raised. I movement spell could then be thought up to negate the effect of SP on dodge-locking. This system would need to be globally implemented. I don't think this kind of thing is able to be implemented in FFT, since you only get one chance to move per turn.

Anyway, back to my asking for an HP and MP recovery spell. Chakra's formula does not allows for the addition of any status effects. That is my problem with it... I need something that can recover HP and MP while giving a status. Preferably not at a fixed recovery rate, like chakra is... I like being able to heal ridiculously low as a balance to the high heals.

How does one go about altering an actual effect or creating our own? Or is that not possible yet?

I'd like to:

Remove Leviathan's image from the summon
Create 4 more Soul spells (Like Ice Soul, Thunder, Wind, and Aqua but for the other four elements)
Change the color of the spell animations I've used to create Aero

Also, is it possible to make the effects show HP changes? I've used Virgo's revive (the blue one, not the red one used on Malak by Scorpio) for my Inject Spirit spell, which raises an ally from the dead. Problem is, it doesn't really show that I've done anything. Same for certain damaging and healing spells that I've chosen off-effects(animations) for. Though, it is kind of funny seeing an enemy just drop dead. >_>

Where did I say regular attacks? My only reference was to magic users. Meaning, magic attacks. And those skills you mentioned don't do splash damage, they do AoE damage. Splash damage dissipates from the central point of an AoE. The basic AoE attack is the same damage, with the respective formula applied for each unit of course, on all tiles.

The shapes are fine, unless you're able to give me exact suggestions of what needs fixing (like, shift so&so pixel here). The colors are where I'm at right now. The different shades are what bring about the shape within the outline anyway(in such small pixel work), that's why I'm saying I'm focused on the color.

I'm trying to figure out how to work a buzz-cut hair style in just a 16 color palette. I'm already at 19 colors so I need to scale down on the colors I'm using. Tips would be much appreciated for the hair. x_x If you need to reference a buzz cut, use google. I used the Simon portrait as my starting point, so I'm happy with the shape of his cranium at least.





Because of the 16 color limit (I managed to stay at 16 on this one :p) I'm having a hard time making this look acceptable. :s


And well... this is the little I've done on my Soul Manipulator so far. The only "completed" sprite is the forward-facing one. Though, I'm not satisfied with the head. I haven't done much to this since I'm distracted with the patcher and text editor. ADD ftw!
