If you look sulky when you're married, you're doing it wrong. But I married a Xiffy, so I may be biased.

I admit, I am particularly very harsh on WotL modders because they have a near 100% tendency to be completely inexperienced and have fantastical expectations for what they can do with WotL. No prior knowledge, no effort into looking at limitations, and convinced they can work magic with tools and features that don't exist and likely never will.

I don't want for WotL to just be discarded and never worked on again; that's a detriment to the community. But I do need for anyone wishing to work on WotL to know that they are extremely likely to fall into one of two camps: 1) you are limiting yourself severely and will likely not do anything to impress anyone, or; 2) you majestically have working knowledge of assembly level programming on no fewer than two platforms and high level emulation layer comprehension, and are basically the second coming of Jesus to the WotL community.

The only people I know who hate asians are asian themselves :v

I've been in a relationship with people of nearly every ethnicity; genetic history doesn't bother me at all. Be proud of who you are!

And welcome!

That's exactly what you do.

Just for the sake of answering the original question, UMDgen is what you'd use in lieu of CD Mage, but I'm not sure how much further that would successfully get you through the tutorial.

Working on PSX is actually quite a bit easier, especially if your project has a wider scope. Actually, I'd say it's easier to mod PSX for even simple little job hacks, because you have the freedom to move formation sprites around and compensate for their changes.

An extensive project is difficult no matter which platform you're working with, just due to the fact that it is so time-consuming and daunting for a single person to tackle on their own. It's possible to argue PSP is easier just due to how many limitations there are, or that it's like sticking to a restrictive form of poetry, but no matter what you're trying to accomplish, it's easier (and in some cases only possible) to do it seamlessly on PSX.

If you've done as much as you have and share it and people find it interesting, it's entirely likely that you won't have to work on it or future projects alone, of course.

I just got home from work and my eyes would rather be closed than open, but my eyes still like what they see. You've done a good job so far, keep it up!

That we can't help with. Providing pirated material is against the rules, and a rule we must harshly enforce. Sorry.

>> PSP

That's your trouble. 'Kind Of PSP' is the only PSP hack on the site. Nothing else works on PSP. Nothing. NOTHING. So there ya go.

Wow, Avira is worse than I thought. ImgBurn is perfectly safe.

That would be a tricky thing to do. Best to just search google for SCPH1001.BIN (or SCPH1001.BIN.bin), which will be 512 kilobytes when uncompressed. We can't provide the file, but it's pretty easy to find on the internet.

Try mibbit first rather than PJIRC.

I haven't extensively tested ePSXe 2.0 to say if the rule has been changed, but the general rule is to use anything other than ePSXe. If you just want to play FFT without much hassle, pSX 1.13 is the friendliest, easiest option. I personally prefer to use PCSX-R with either its default GPU plugin with GTE accuracy enabled, or edgbla's gpuBladeSoft. RetroArch is another good option, if you can get it to work without immediately crashing - I can't.

Welcome! Don't apologize for your introduction, you said some great things, there.

You just need PSX2PSP for converting your ISO to to EBOOT format, though it can be beneficial to have popsloader with a full set of POPS versions for getting certain games to work. Converting to EBOOT doesn't take very long, and once it's converted, it will show up on the XMB just like normal PSOne Classics do.

In regards to other games, it's worth noting that FFVII doesn't work as smoothly as the official PSN game once converted, and Valkyrie Profile doesn't work at all. Pretty much everything else I ever converted worked perfectly fine, though!

Speaking as Xifanie's wife, you can expect that there won't be any work done on KoI until after all four chapters of Journey of the Five are completed. I cannot guarantee work will be done after that, either. It's something I'd personally like to work with her on, but we already have a lot on our table as far as side projects are concerned (many of them not related to FFT at all).

Fortunately, if you can play modded WotL on your PSP, you can also play the PSX version on your PSP (as long as you don't use any of the known console-breaking ASM hacks, of course), so if playing on your PSP is your reason for sticking with WotL, your life just got a whole lot easier!

Help! / Re: Any addons for new/different chars?

If you still leave Cloud's original join in, all that happens is you'll get two Clouds with their own stats and job progression. There's nothing stopping you from having a party of nothing but Orlandus. For the same reason, nothing screwy happens if you have villains in your party (I say with a save of both Celia and Lede in my party).

Help! / Re: What does FFTPatcher and Lion Editor do?
February 28, 2016, 12:11:10 pm
Lion Editor.
FFTPatcher.

Please note again that Lion Editor won't work unless your save is not encrypted. PPSSPP enables encryption by default. You have to disable encryption first, then make a new save.
