Help! / GIMP 2.6 probelm with sprite color changing

when i convert the color to 16 it doesnt work, instead it will convert to 12 or 10 or some other number. is there a way to fix this or another program i can use?

Did holy knight ramza custom sprite get removed? i dont see it... i dont need the spr file, i wanted the png file picture that is posted with the file like all the other custom sprites

ok so i replaced all 3 of ramza's sprites and even changed him in the formation screen and all that but when in event scenes, in certain stances he beocomes a distorted veriosn of his pervious sprite. whats up with that? can it be fixed?
