Title: Deleting Units From Battle
Post by: Snap006 on June 28, 2013, 12:37:22 pm
I want to decrease the number of units I can deploy in battle.

Example:
4 units instead of fiver so I can have more unique enemy sprites.

How would I go about doing this? Thanks.

Use the Attack.out Editor, which can be downloaded on the downloads page. You can change the number of unit's you bring to the formation, the shape of the formation, where the formation is placed, whether or not you want to have a second squad, change the music, make the weather different, make it night or day and more!

Ok I edited the battle on Riovane's Rooftop to only have 3 units. It worked except all my jobs for my characters are screwed up. What did I do wrong?

You have to be far more specific than that for me to help you.

Also, the Attack.Out doesn't change things like that (too my knowledge) and if you only changed the number of units you can deploy in a battle then you should be getting no errors like that. It sounds like you used a different program and messed around with it then forgot you did.

It was like it screwed up the fftactext I created. I went imported the original attack.out and all text text from fftactext I patched was reset to the original.

Everything worked fine except for that.

You should export attack.out from the ISO with the correct TacText changes, make the changes to that with the attack.out editor, and re-import it.

Correct. Attack.out is one of the things edited in tactext. So you made changes then reimported the edited attack.out without the tactext changes
