Title: Help with Custom Sprite
Post by: Glass on September 15, 2008, 02:01:52 am
So, I have a custom sprite done, looks okay and all, and I plan to put this in place of Ramza's Chapter 1 Sprite Set, then reuse that job and sprite set and assign it to Alicia on Chapter 2.

The problem I am having right now is Ramza 1's SPR filesize is 44.0kb, and the resulting SPR file is 44.1kb.

I was wondering if you guys have any suggestion on how to drop that last bit of filesize. I'll attach the bitmap file of the custom sprite I did.

Thanks in advance!

I fully suggest cdprog, that will allow you to import files into the next sector (extra 2 kb? If I recall?)

I tried using cdprog, but it couldn't open fftpack.bin for some reason. It says "Seek failed on an unnamed file".

I am modifying the PSP FFT, btw.

Wow. PSP? That's much harder, if my memory serves. After Kenshin kept trying to look for editing sections and unpacking.

If you have custom firmware on your psp and a plug-in called popsloader you can play psx games converted to psp. There's a program called PSX2PSP that can convert any PSX game to a PSP eboot file.

Oh, and the PSX version of FFT has NO SLOWDOWN when converted to PSP.

if you have cfw on your psp, take the files hopefully in a folder called "seplugins" put that folder at the root (very first window when opened) of your memstick hold down the "r" shoulder button and power on the psp still holding the button now you should have a text menu scroll down to plugins and just enable the popsloader, now your game should go like this memroot->psp->game->folder for eboot-> eboot, if you are confused or have any questions please smash the keyboard with both fists or your face now.
