Title: Beginner Sprite maker
Post by: Noah Tykki on June 24, 2012, 08:32:53 pm
Hi im new to the whole sprite creation scene had the game since release but just discovered about changing sprites lol i know.
Anyways I would like help on a couple things getting started to making sprites and stuff:
1. I recently downloaded lion editor and fftpatcher however how do I use the patcher ? Mainly trying to create Altima
2. If I want to change a sprites color how do i do this?
3. How do I change the character image in the party roster?
4.Also the patch came with the shishi program what is it used for? and how do I use it?

I've looked at a lot of tutorials I just can't grasp it.

1) To use the Patcher, open it and then go to PSX (or PSP, if it's WotL) -> Open ISO and choose your FFT ISO.

2) You would extract the sprite using the included Shishi sprite editor and use a program like Graphics Gale or Paint to edit the sprite.

3) It's not currently possible on the PSP, but Celdia made a tutorial for the PSX version.

4) Open your ISO with Shishi the same way you would with the Patcher.

Hope this helps!

Alright thanks the community is pretty big i thought once i beat the game their was nothing left to do but you guys have added more to giving it more than just replay value its like a whole other game itself I've seen patches on the form people do to make it so. Thanks a lot so basically shishi is to get my sprite from the game and edit it ? and once im done customizing how would i put it back into the game?
Oh sorry one more thing is I want to use a sprite made by another user how do i put in my game?

You can also import sprites using Shishi. So you'd download the sprite and insert it into the ISO with Shishi. Same thing if you edit a sprite.
