Does someone play custom WC III maps online?
I love Island defense and the black road; What about you?

I used to make a lot of custom WC3 maps, I had a whole single player Campaign that my brother and i made a long time ago.

There was a lot of awesome custom RPG maps online as well that i loved to play but sadly i lost my Frozen Throne CD key somewhere during my move across the country 6 years ago.. I still have Original WC3.. But, its not the same :P

Have we talked about these on this forum? I think so but not quite sure.

Regardless, I was a wc3 mapper back in the day. Never finished anything except a few small things, but found a nice mapping clan and still have several friends I met in it.

Any puzzle map that dealt with resource management and put pressure on you caught my interest. That includes stuff like tech wars, tower defenses, fortress defense, etc. Also kinda liked alternative RTSs with wacky resources or base building mechanics.

Was never into micro heavy maps (dota, arenas, hero defenses, etc) nor maps that dealt more with positioning strategy (zone defense, risk).

I don't know what your definition of micro heavy is, but dota and hero defenses are hardly micro heavy. You rarely control more than 3 units, if that. I still play dota on a private server, if people want to join, they can I guess. We play other maps too.

And I used to be a mapper, although it is a shit map. Pokemon World lol.

I never got a satisfactory definition of micro/macro/etc.

My interpretation is directly controlling units rather than letting the AI do stuff for you. Thus, victory being determined by how well you control any number of units (including just one) would be "micro heavy." Attack-moving would be lack of micro.

Messing with wc3's wonky pathing and rather sub-par interface (for direct unit control anyway) is not my idea of fun. I find battleships and battletanks the most tolerable of AoS-clone maps specifically due to the lack of active abilities.

Big Tower defense player here. Played them all, except things like NARUTO TD.

I play very rarely. I made three maps that I don't have anymore ; the last one was still in beta.
-Air wars (Build ship, make them go up, fight, 4v4)
-Trench war (WW1. It was awesome, but too boring, since to get to the other side of the map, you had to have at least 100, 120 units walking)
-One tower defence (5 players control 1 mighthy morphing tower, repels waves of incoming mobs. It was awesomely balanced and nearly ready to go out :-( )

Micro is your ability to control a large number of units well. In other words, if you have a large army, say 30 units, you would need good micro to maintain your units, more so if they have abilities. Even more so if you have split your army up and fighting multiple battles at once. Which means that Risk is actually more micro heavy than dota, since you usually control large armies as compared to dota's 1 hero. Well, if you are just grouping units and attack moving to point X without caring, I guess it isn't micro. Exceptions in dota do exist of course, like Chen or Meepo, but even then, it's only 4 units.

Macro is your ability to manage and maintain your resources. This includes knowing what to build, what to upgrade, how many workers, where workers go, when to start expanding and all that junk. Usually applies to all games in varying degrees.
