Title: Because the villian isn't always the bad guy...
Post by: Tybalt on October 02, 2011, 10:11:13 pm
So yeah, here I am. I've spent the last 14 hours reading most of the threads here and trying to wrap my head around modding without using Gameshark codes (which was my preferred method, albeit a time consuming one.) I actually stumbled onto the site while looking for Neokameks GS Helper so that I could code out those stubborn custom weapons on Vanilla FFT. Then the lightbulb came on and I decided it would be simpler to just learn to use the resources here (Yeah, okay). I still haven't wrapped my brain around ASM's and actual Patching, but I am getting the gist of it.

All in all a great site, and a definite moment of 'Nirvana' when I stumbled onto it. Time to get all those ideas into practice, one custom dagger at a time.

Gasp, someone ninja'd my avatar.

Anywho, welcome, dreams may come true pending acceptance of terms and conditions, yadda yadda yadda.

The love I bear thee can afford no better term than this: Thou art a villain.

Welcome to FFH, where all your dreams come true! Just play around with the tools at first to get used to them- it's how most of us started out. :)

Welcome to the circus, Tybalt. The FFTPatcher is a fairly user-friendly program and mostly self-explanitory even when you're just getting started...except maybe for a couple of the checkboxes and how they operate. Just dive in. There are some pages on the Wiki that have information to help you make use of it and if all else fails you can always come join chat and ask around.

@Kaijyuu: You realize this just means its time for you to customize yours, right?

Maybe I should ponify it.

You should.

@Kaijyuu no worries, you can keep the avatar. It was a quick placeholder is all.

You should.

Done.

I was going to do a style mix and make it look more like a legitimate FFT portrait, but I'm too lazy.

Needs a little goatee. Yes. A goatee on a pony. A ponytee. I've already forgotten if your original avatar had one or not but this pony looks like he needs one.

Moved the beard over so it's more obviously one, instead of just looking like long hair.

Also, here's the original:

Recreating the beard's beyond my abilities, and the hair color doesn't look very good on a pony, so it'll stay darker.

Ahh, alright. I thought so...really did look like long hair on the opposite side. New version is definitely better. Y'know...for a pony...
