Title: Jon's 'New "Creating Custom Characters" Tutorial' Help
Post by: Cottage Cheese on April 08, 2011, 03:17:45 pm
I'm currently following Jon's custom character tutorial (which is very good, I might say). However, I think Jon might have forgotten some information.

http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=5868.0

(See right underneath Step 7)

First, he doesn't initially tell us to open FFTacText, even though at the bottom of the paragraph he does tell us to close it. Also, he mentions that by the end of the step we should "have renamed 'Dish' 4 times, make sure you did!" But unless I just missed them, I can only see two times where he tells us to rename the character.

Could someone help me out here?

I found 3 dish's...and to this day I, and every godforsaken person I've asked, ALSO CANNOT F*CKING FIND THE FOURTH DISH,
Rant aside, which sections have you done? I've been through all the sections literally 10 times over, so I can point out the third dish.

I had just finished importing the UNIT.BIN and the WLDFACE.BIN into my ISO using CDMage. Then I got to the next step and I was like, "wtf?" I didn't change any of the names yet because I wasn't sure what to do.

Btdubz, thanks so much for replying. I was beginning to think I was being ignored. -sadface-

About 4 different Dishes...
See,you can just export all of the text as *.ffttext.
Then, after exporting, just open it in Notepad, and just search for "Dish" all over the file with Search function.
Then save it and just import in FFTacText.

Notepad can read the ffttext files? I wasn't aware of this... That's handy.
