ok, when i load the program the only file i get a response from is a fresh copy of FFT.(not a patched 1.3)
i can not at all edit a (patched with 1.3 or 1.3 easy type file), as when i open ISO, the program just sits there as if i didn't click anything.
1)** so im guessing i HAVE TO edit my sprites before i patch with 1.3?? that's quite hard to work with.
Not only that the second i recompile the database for my base file(unpatched fft iso), i noticed that it re-sizes my file to the same size as of a patched version( 1.3 fft iso), so im guessing in 1.3 there is some sprite changes/alterations.
2)** say i change how a squire looks, i noticed all squires change to the new sprite, and i was looking for a save as, and it seems the second you change something in shishi sprite editor, it auto changes the in game texture the second you insert the sprite. so if i were to undo my changes, i need to create a new default iso, i feel a little pissed off as it's a pain now that my cd is f-cked. Im not happy about this.
3)**man all i want to do is change the sprites of my knights to palette 5 without screwing the sprites of all other knights in the game. or heck the sprites of my formations to other colors. when i add a custom palette in the program it changes everyone to the new sprite but then i still get the default palette texture 1 for my party when say i want palette texture 5. whats the fix for this !?
For one, you absolutely have to change the sprites before you patch. If you notice, after you patch, the size of the iso increases, especially if you modify ENTDs. ShiShi can only read a normal-sized tactics.
1. Yep. And no it's not; just open the .ppf patched iso with patcher and save the patch. Get a fresh iso, sprite change, and then open and apply the patch. It works well enough.
2. Yeah... but you shouldn't have a problem w/ the CD, only the iso.
Can't help with 3 (sorry).
Strange... I've never really had an issue trying to change sprites in isos that have been patched with 1.3.
As for your 3rd question, the only thing that I can think of right off the bat is changing the order of the palettes in something like GraphicsGale, and then re-importing the bmp file in to Shishi's. For example, if I wanted to have my party's Knights to have the red cape with the white shield (or whatever that symbol is), then I would have to export the Knight sprite as a bmp file, open it in something like GraphicsGale and switch around palettes 1 and 5. Or just replace palette 1 with palette 5, and leave palette 5 untouched. Switching them around should mean that my Knights have the red cape, while the knights who normally use palette 5 (Church knights, IIRC) would have the standard white cape with the blue shield symbol. If I just replaced palette 1, and left 5 untouched, then both my knights and the Church knights would look the same.
Obviously, after I modify the bmp file, I'd have to re-import it into slot 63 in Shishi's.
And for the record, IIRC, sprite palette 1 is Ramza's party, 2 is Hokuten, 3 is Nanten, 4 is the Death Corps, and 5 is the Church.
