Title: Optimizing Elemental
Post by: dinosaur on January 03, 2011, 08:04:56 pm
So Elemental is PA and MA based. Would it be wise to lvl up to 50 with a monk (for PA) then the rest as a wizard (for MA)- would that make element extremely strong?

Opinions please?

Mime is the best for both PA and MA, and as FFM said elemental's weird formula means that it's hard to determine exactly what PA and MA numbers will make elemental really strong.

Generally though, more MA is better unless your PA is really low, since it does increase more damage per extra point of MA. However, Elemental isn't really meant to be very damaging anyway, it's used for the status. Draw Out or physical attacks do much more damage lategame.

As far as number goes, you need to always aim a 2-3 points difference between PA and MA.

Example: 14PA and 17MA / 8PA and 10MA

Whoever, if you have ONE point left to spend (equipment) and your PA number is even, adding +1PA will be useless as it will go into the void during calculation, so you're better off putting it in MA for a 3-4 points difference.

Ideally you level up with mime and adjust with equipment.

A point worth noting is that lower level gains matter more than higher level gains, and the breakeven point is variable to initial raw value and the two different growth values.
