Final Fantasy Hacktics

hey guys, I'm new here and to spriting. I tried layering Zalbag's cape on Ramza and when I imported it to shishi it showed up like this. What did I do wrong? [attachment=1:35weywd5]Fail.bmp[/attachment:35weywd5][attachment=0:35weywd5]Ramza - Copy.bmp[/attachment:35weywd5]

Did you fix the palette? Or did you just swap the cape on, and make no changes?

I changed the cape colors to the same color as Ramza's palette if thats what u mean by fixing otherwise no I simply swaped

OK. Then your good there. I'm not a huge spriter. So I'm not sure from there.

Okay what version of shishi are you using?

1st thing, it's too bright, tone it down.
2nd thing, I dunno how you did this magic with messed uo sheet. Such things happen when you are patching, and you didn't extend ISO beforehand. How you did this is beyond me.

All in all, another frankensprite, nice.

Yeah, the white was a bad choice. WAY to saturated.

I re-did the whole thing on graphic gale and it worked turns out I did a poor job fixing the colors the first time.Now its showing normal on shishi, gonna test in game and see how it goes.

Seconded. Color swaps are easy. Just open it in Graphics Gale and change each color accordingly.

Yeah, this sprite can work, but you are not using already existing colors. You invented your own. Don't do that, just find a monster or some sprite that has "whites" and borrow them from that.

White didn't turn out the way I had in mind so I changed to gray, tell me what u think

looks a lot better now

it's still recognizably Zalbag, and sprites that remind me of characters are always a little weird to criticize, but otherwise looks good

IMO this sprite already looks better than Chapter 4 ramza.

Much much much better. For your first sprite this was a simple edit and just fine.
