I used to use bin. Now I use Img, CCD, and Sub also. (Lost my FFT Disc a month ago)

Also, let's break this down.

In common use, an "ISO" is a file that contains the complete image of a disc. Such files are often used when transferring CD-ROM images over the Internet. Depending on who you're talking to, "ISO" may refer to all disc image files or only certain kinds.

Going by the more restrictive definition, an "ISO" is created by copying an entire disc, from sector 0 to the end, into a file. Because the image file contains "cooked" 2048-byte sectors and nothing else, it isn't possible to store anything but a single data track in this fashion. Audio tracks, mixed-mode discs, CD+G, multisession, and other fancy formats can't be represented.

To work around this deficiency, software companies developed their own formats that *could* store diverse formats.
Jeff Arnold's CDRWIN created them as "BIN" files, with a separate "cue sheet" that described the contents.


A ".ISO" file that contains an image of an ISO-9660 filesystem can be manipulated in a number of ways: it can be written to a CD-ROM; mounted as a device with the Linux "loopback" filesystem (e.g. "mount ./cdimg.iso /mnt/test -t iso9660 -o loop"); copied to a hard drive partition and mounted under UNIX; or viewed with MagicISO under Windows. There is no guarantee, however, that a ".ISO" file contains ISO-9660 filesystem data. And it is quite common to hear people refer to things as "ISO" which aren't.




Now while .bins can be renamed to .iso and work.
This is not always the case.

my feelings are hurt.   I tried to help you hex edit the game, even did a little myself to try and make the game playable for you.  I answered your questions and in the process made fun of your complete inability to use a period correctly.  Then when I answer an offtopic comment to the best of my ability, noting especially how completely irrelevant and pointless it is to do what you're suggesting, you get upset.

Evan212 comes on here, asks for help, both Philsov and Mari give the damn answers which already are totally obvious, then Evans flips out and says stuff like "take your comments and shove them up your ass". *Use correct punctuation.
*Use spell check.
*Capitalize the first letter of a sentence.
*There is no reason to use a page-expanding line of apostrophes to divide your text.  Use the enter key, or, even better, correct sentence structure.
*Leave your emotional problems at home.  If your rant about perceived insults is longer than your advice, then you're talking too much.  Keep it short and to the point.
*If you're going to be excessively emotional, then don't leave your state of residence and age on your FFHacktics profile, and don't keep a flikr, youtube, and who knows what else with the same user name as your FFHacktics user name, because no one here will hesitate to fuck with you if you fuck with us.
