Did holy knight ramza custom sprite get removed? i dont see it... i dont need the spr file, i wanted the png file picture that is posted with the file like all the other custom sprites
http://ffhacktics.com/sprites/sheet/Ram ... ghtFFH.png (http://ffhacktics.com/sprites/sheet/Ramza%20Holy%20KnightFFH.png)
why the hell do you want that anyway?
its a easier way to change the portrait then the whole gale process
That looks crappy, I made a better one at least of Ramza in Delita's armor. Search for it in my thread under Spriting.
Ok
Here ya go, its hard to find tbh:
Wow thanks, it looks great
you have a spr file of that too?
Just convert this one to 16 colors in Graphics Gale, and then save as a .bmp. Then open it in Shishi and save as a .spr. I don't normally make sprs to begin with and I would never make an spr of this because sprs are practically only for Site Submission. You are going to have to insert a portrait too, I would use ch.4 Ramza's portrait to save time.
ok thanks
ok quick question tho, how do i get the portrait on the spriteheet? when i paste it one the spritesheet and save it then put it in shishi it doesnt show on the spritesheet, just a black empty space
The portrait might be off in game, I made this quick, if you see anything funny, tell me, I'll fix it tomorrow. Here is the .spr:
thanks, it went into shishi so ill try it out once im done all the editing
i found something, the first image of him in the spritesheet is a little off just so u know for tomorrow
Are you sure? I think the positions of all the frames are 100% correct. Did you test this in game? The only problem might be the portrait, the rest is totally fine, trust me. However if something looks off in game, tell me, I'll fix it.
Nvm its fine in-game
Including the portrait? No blue or gray lines on the top / bottom / side of the portrait? Maybe I should submit this thing, nah, its too easy to make.
a little border on it
Gonna look weird in Shishi, but works perfect in game now. If anything else arises, lemme know.
ok
hey, is it a long process to changing a spritesheets colors? cause i want to chane the color of one of the sprites i got off the custom sprites section
its really easy if you know what to do
what program can i use that would be easy?
what i want to do is change the armor and helm in the sheet to a silver color
why cant you do it? all you need is graphics gale or gimp, its sooo easy...
I have a better program than both Graphics Gale, Gimp, Photoshop or anything else, which works much quicker and perfectly. I could do this for ya T.
If u can that would appreciate it
can you change the brown to silver in the portrait too?
Took longer than expected because Zozma was working only with 14 colors and I had to go in and add a 3rd skin tone. Also, I found a few minor mistakes which I corrected. But she doesn't look good in silver (Ramza's)...do whatever you like, take it or reject it...
What about grey? I think that would look better, if u don't want to do that then ill stick with this one
I'm feeling lazy, take it or leave it. Or you can look at some of the wonderful tutorials on spriting and learn how to replace colors, which is honestly the easiest, easiest, easiest thing to do to sprites. Next would be head swaps, then arm swaps and then after that you are pretty much making a custom.
@Zozma: Sorry for messing up your excellent sprite, Z. I hate what I did to the sprite itself, but actually I like how the portrait came out.
Ok ill look into it
What program do u use J?
That one program I mentioned? Well thats a secret, sorry. Even if I told you, it would be hard to figure out how to use because it is used for making online games. But to just change colors there are millions of ways, you can do it with Photoshop relatively easily, all you do is go to Image > Adjustments > Replace Color and play around until you have colors you like. If you don't have PS, search google for free Photoshop CS2 download, you will find one quite quickly. Another way is to use Zodiac's palette editor, you can insert already existing palettes from other sprites. If I were you, I would use Photoshop, one of the best art programs out there.
Ok thanks
oh, and how do i fix portrait palettes??? i look at the tutorial and i get to a step and it says hopefully u already cropped a correct color of the portait but idk how to even get the correct palette in the first place
No, slow down, you got the wrong terms. A palette is the color in a sprite. The FFT sprites have a maximum of 16 colors. Therefore they have a 16 color palette. Cropping means to cut out the portrait or make one. Sometimes when you have a portrait, and its either a jpeg or a bmp off of the internet, the file gets a bit distorted and makes something like 256 color palette or more. I once had a 2100 color palette of in reality 16 colors. So in Graphics Gale, if the portrait's palette is over 16 colors, you need to reduce it to 16. Cropping a portrait is something totally else. You need to select the rectangular tool either in Graphics Gale or in Photoshop, make a box around the portrait exactly, and copy and paste it to its own file, of the same exact size. If this confuses or confused you even more, I can explain this stuff in even more detail if you like, but I hope this helps
i understood, i cropped the portrait out and made it a bmp file but when i reduce the color to 16 in gale it still looks distorted
Lol! That looks pretty bad! Thats probably not you fault. Here, I made it for you:
lol thanks
i changed the color but its not going into shishi correctly, the portrait gets distorted when its entered in
Alright, are you 100% happy with the colors here and the portrait? I can make it work if you are 100% sure you want to use this exact sprite sheet you posted. But did you read my tutorial through? Every time you change anything color wise, you need to do the whole attaching the portrait step all over again. So its cut out portrait, save it, change sheet to 16 colors, change portrait to 16 colors, save .pal of it, load the pal on the sheet and reattach the portrait. But if you want me to do it, be sure that you are absolutely happy with this post.
there
Now this is it, no more please. And read my tutorial again carefully, everything is explained in detail in it.
u hav a tutorial on changing palette colors?
Here's my version..[attachment=0:17qk1fcd]HKramza.png[/attachment:17qk1fcd]
Thats not bad for colors, but we already got like a million and a half Divine Knights. They are over done.
oh sorry. I guess I haven't sprites sprites.

this is my first edit, the portrait looks kinda sloppy so I changed it to this
Cloud, you should probably post things like this under Sprites, so people can tell you whats wrong / what needs to be fixed. Right now I don't see anything wrong with it, even the portrait is alright, but like I said, there already are tons of Shrine Knights with head swaps. If you want some honest crits, private message this to Kagebunji, hehehe. I am sure he'll love this...
okay! thanks a lot Jon! sorry I'm kinda new here you know.
Sure, no problem. I am guessing you are a FF7 fan? I am currently working on a new Zack (my favorite FF character of all the FF games). I think I'll pm you a copy once I am 100% done with it and totally happy. Or you could just check my thread in Spriting. I am working very hard on getting a decent FFT Zack sprite out into this world! Zack! Ha ha! Best character! Too bad he gets shot in the head a couple of thousand times repeatedly, and limp crawls on over to Cloud still alive and then dies.....
this is a nice sprite!
is there an official copy of the ramza shrine kngiht sprite already?
