Title: Adding palettes to a sprite file?
Post by: Ran Master on May 05, 2010, 03:01:17 am
I'm pretty new here, and just got in to FFT patching, I was wondering if it is possible to add different palletes to a sprite.

Kinda like how the generic classes have different palettes for what ever team they're on, is it possible to add palettes towards a special character like Ramza for example?

Any sprite can have multiple palettes as long as you're willing to make them. (Assuming they don't exist) =P

You'll need to use my sprite palette hack in order to do that because all special characters and monsters are defaulted to the first palette. My hack overrides this and unlocks all the 8 palettes. Just check the little asm reference topic.

Hey Zodiac, just out of curiosity, how do Byblos/Apanda work?  Aren't they normally different palettes of the same sprite?

So how exactly do I add a palette file to a current existing sprite?

You use Zodiac's program or download GraphicsGale.
