Hi this is my first attempt att doing anything and i think i did good XD Need help with portraits and stuff though the are for a seraph Job im working on it gonna be a generic replacement for the calculator.
I would definitely say that there is way too much white. If you want to have everything white that is okay, you just need to be using slightly darker shades as your brightest and then throwing in more grays. It could be cool though.
Thanks for the advice Cheetah and youre Awesome at making Portraits from what ive seen.
Thanks, I have on a bit of a portrait kick for the past month or so. Keep up the good work and don't give up, this stuff just takes a lot of practice.
Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep up my work though im not exactly sure its good. XD
Heres another guy I made just a re-palette but i think it looks good.
It is looking prett cool. That is a hard sprite to recolor too.
The trick is with these small sprites is that it is really hard to do one unique color and have it mesh well. Pretty much any color you have on your sprite needs to have at least 2 or usually 3 shades to have it look consistant. You did this with your blacks, and thus the hair and most of the body looks great.
Thanks. Graphic gale is good to learn in I guess mostly im just selcting colors and replacing them. But I need to leanr to customise and blend. Glad you like it but portrait arent working right when I insert them right now but oh well.
Graphics Gale is a program I use a lot, especially to get everything right just before I put it into ShiShiSpriteEditor. I gave a lot of suggestions for using graphics gale in another topic around here. I will see if I can find it and link it here.
Well I can't find it, but my favorite part of Graphics Gale is how it does Palettes. Basically each line of the palette is 16 colors, so the first 5 rows are the palette choices for a standard human sprite. Then 3 blank ones which can be used for the sprite. Then 5 palette rows for your portrait. Plus an extra three at the end for portraits.
Read my last post here on how to get sprites working:
http://auritech.fantopolis.com/viewtopi ... c&start=20 (http://auritech.fantopolis.com/viewtopic.php?t=342&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20)
But as far as choosing colors go, let it be known that I take pretty much every color I use from existing sprites. The key for me when doing this stuff is knowning my resources and using them appropriately.
I have them working mostly its just the portraits that mess with me so i could leave em blank XD aaaaaaany way I think I Like Vanyas warrior a bit too much It so customisable. Plus Medioul She is good for customizing aswell I just made a female version of nightblade but its quite a bit lighter compared to the male version. Check the original nightblade post too see it.
Very cool.
2 more XD this is fun AND I got a Portrait Made =D Its gonna be my Avatar by the time you see this Hope you like it its for the WARRIOR Sprite.
Another guy XD Hes a traveler and i had a problem for a minute but it was because i had only use 13 of my 16 color palette XD. Aanyway here the portrait. the Bitmap is attached.
