I've got a good few in the works atm, but I finally finished an entire sheet. Litterally just now. I've yet to play test it, but 4am isn't exactly the best time for that, I suppose. Still needs a portrait, however I'm not quite at that level of skill yet, I'm afraid (if anyone feels like jumpin in there, feel free

)
Now all we have to do is figure out a way to modify (the Hell out of) the Frog spell and, boom. Werewolf.
Also attaching the .SPR file if anyone actually does feel like playtesting it this late.
Okay. Well I went ahead and playtested it anyway. Animations work fine, including the injured and death animations (which I was most worried about) there's a little head bobbing action goin on, which I'll have to fix, but overall, I'm pretty happy with the ingame performance.
Looks great. Well done and congrats ^^
Looks good, but does Werewolfs have tail? suppose they have, but shorter, the one you have now gives it a lot of Demon look, and I know Demon was a base.
Great work! My only issues are with the arms on the back views (occasionally they look bony), the length of the tail (as Kage mentioned), and the overall face shape (but I can't seem to pinpoint the problem). The dead poses are insanely good--very innovative. Again, great work, Ton. Good luck with the portrait.
on the back views it still has a tiny demon wing on it's right side that you missed
Ah yes, dwib hit the point on the head--those are wing remnants on the back, not boniness. Also, with the Critical animation, maybe you should make his right hand clenched too or his eyes closed or something. I dunno...right now he looks like he'll pounce rather than die...
Yeah, the tail thing is bothering me too. I thought I got all the wing bits

ah well. The problem with the face, that I have, is that it's just too fat from the back side, but it's the only way I could get it to still hold the proper shape.
I agree, something needs to be done about the critical animation for certain. I also don't like the howling animation, simply because the straight up head looks ridiculous, but I wanted something a little different.
I thought the howling animation looked awesome, but that's just me. This sprite is definitely on the right track though--it just needs a little tweaking, then it'll be ready. Great work, Ton.
Well, I'll get to work on the fixes, but thanks for all the insight; help is always appreciated
Alright; shoulders de-winged, tail shortened - should be in working order now. Closed the eyes in the wounded animation, as well as the fist - the changes are minor, but they really to make the difference, thanks!
FAAAAAAAAAIL!!! I forgot to post the updated sprite.
Some other sprites I've been working on:
The Turk (Male and Female) - I patched in the SOLDIER japanese sprite, then thought how great it would be to have Turks as well, so as a result:
TurkM.bmp[/attachment:2306ya9g]
Turkf.bmp[/attachment:2306ya9g]
Ramza as a SOLDIER

Delita as a SOLDIER

Algus as a Turk
AlgusTurk.bmp[/attachment:2306ya9g]
Nariem - his palette got screwed, and I'm not exactly sure how, but i've not put forth the effort to repair it just yet.
Nariem.bmp[/attachment:2306ya9g]
I'm also working on a Zombie sprite. I've gotten their attacks worked out to make for interesting and annoyingly intense battles, so now all I need is a fun sprite to fit an absolutely heinously obnoxious enemy that actually requires rather innovative tactics.
Your Nariem is really good, I like it a lot, and don't worry about palette, it looks good to me. Those Turks look good too, submit em all
Lol @ Ramza and Delita as SOLDIERs. Awesome work!
The Soldiers' palettes need some fixing--I think there's been some significant loss of detail as a result of the color reduction. All the Turks look okay, but I gotta say Nariem is the best looking out of all of these sprite. Once you fix the palette and the way his head connects to his neck on the forward facing diagonal frames, it'll be a fantastic sprite. It kind of reminds of me of the Squolar, a character for FFT: Mercenaries.
You know, I actually got the inspiration from Squalor, but (not to bash the sprite mind you) he just seemed a bit too much like a recolor for my tastes. Nariem looks fine in a sheet, yeah, but once you import him the colors are completely screwed. Strangely, the SOLDIER sprites haven't lost much detail - if anything the detail has been lost in the faces of Ramza and Delita. I agree that they do need a little tweaking though.
Ah... are the color values multiples of four?
Yeah, that Nariem is the best among them all. Good job.
I would like to fully, and whole heartedly thank you for the werewolf sprite, and wish for your permission to use it in my patch, and would be interested in seeing any of your other works in that genre (samples, full sheets, etc)
lol, if I post it up here, its free game. I don't believe in hogging the rights to works like this, we're all just having fun here anyway, right? Thank you much for asking though - go right on ahead

As I get them working, I'll keep posting up here. Thanks to all of you for all the support and positive feedback.
@Silvas - you know, I'm actually not sure... silly question, but how might I go about figuring that out?
Quote from: "Tonb3rry"... silly question, but how might I go about figuring that out?
That depends. What program are you using? GraphicsGale gives you a readout, as do Adobe Photoshop and Zodiac's palette editor (http://ffhacktics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3901). All you need to do is check the RGB values and see if they're multiples of four, all the way up to 252, if I recall correctly.
Ah, I do have GraphicsGale. I'll need to pull that up and check it out - I put a lot of work into Nariem, I'd hate to see him not work out.
Another issue with Nariem's palette is that so many of his colors are shared: having skin and clothes almost the exact same shades will be a huge bother down the line. Do you have a version that isn't reduced to 16 colors? You could probably rework that...
I wish I did have an unsaturated version (thanks to Nariem I now save both the original and the final when working a spritesheet) the issue is that I went about plastering him over other 16bit sheets till I found a color scheme I liked, only he eventually faded to what you see now and I couldn't get the original colors back. A pain.
In the meantime; I was cleaning up around the house and found my KH discs... don't know why but it inspired this:
Unknown.bmp[/attachment:2o0hw91d]
Another pretty quick one (about an hour and a half maybe) - I really just don't have the time I would like to spend on detail, etc, but I do like to keep in practice. Usually in the mornings, waiting for the wife to wake-up and I've got no new games to play, like today
Dude, that is a sick sprite. Love it. Gonna make a "Harbinger" class with that one.
*submits form to kidnap for certain character in zombie patch that is NOT being worked on in total secret*
I see a couple purple pixels, but they're no big deal. The colors on the portrait are bugging me a bit, but overall it's very nice. Great job.
Blasted purple pixels! Gods, you don't realize how many pointless hidden shades the Oracle has until you change the colors. Also yes, the portrait colors are off. I literally took the KH: COM portrait and boxed it down to fft size.
@Vamp - snatch away; I'm glad i've been able to be such an accidental help lol
Yeah, looks great. Well done.
Never thought of this. Nice job.
QuoteThe colors on the portrait are bugging me a bit
Next
Hah, that's creepy. Most of it looks good, except for where the eyes and ears go. Definitely a fun sprite though--keep up the good work.
Nice one. It could use some more blood though, especially if it is a zombie Delita. Cool ideas you got. Hmm, reading your name reminds me of well, yeah, a tonberry, I wonder if anyone ever made one in FFT yet? Probably not to hard to adapt, considering that there is a tonberry in FFTA...I bet it wouldn't be too hard to make one out of Simon...or High Priest Funeral...this just gave me an idea...
That would be a freaking massive tonberry lol. I actually took the FFTA version and altered the colors to better fit the original coloration - I've replaced the Apanda sprite in my game with it, though, and as I've not come across one yet, I'm not sure if it works X(
Also, I am still changing the colors, etc for the zombie (I only posted what I had so far) it will eventually be a simple generic zombie, I'm merely using Delita's body as the base

Cool. Please continue..

You could remake Zombie Zalbag with this, too.
You could test the FFTA tonberry in Shishi, you know? Just replace a sprite and then check its movement on the right side in the program...I might make a small version of tonberry if I find the time, but who to use as a base...?
Quote from: "Jon"but who to use as a base...?

Any other questions?
Haha, got a point there Kage. However, it is pretty weird as Simon (Funeral is out of the question). Actually, the best base might actually be the male summoner. Dunno, but I am still playing around with the idea.
*submits form to kidnap acertain character for a relashed patch that is worked on.*
Well, as was said for all those others, feel free to grab whatever you like Kokojo. If you see me working on something and it's in a vein of something else that you'd like then just let me know - I'll see if I can't try whipping something up. I've got free time.
keep working on these sprites! theyre quite good.
