It's not exactly a mod for FFT but, being I'm making an MMO from scratch with a battle system and job system consistent of FFT at heart, features of FFXI, Atlantica, and WOW (only the good features) etc.I do NOT want another MMO clone at all by far, I am simply using what good things came from the MMOs, completely changing the battle system *FFT Style*, then making it my own style with characters beautifully designed and natural looking and natural looking movements, not on crack like wow characters, and again, figuring something unique out that stands out on top to make this game in its own right unique. Each player may have a house *instanced to themselves only*, and each guild has their own "outdoor" mansion, with perhaps bonus items that can be obtainable to give craft bonus's and minigames for the guild members, maybe even slight combat or xp bonus's to the members of that house/guild. So far... I'm the only one that has been working on it and so far its pure UDK work. I'm trying to get some people involved that would like to see a tactical MMO at first put out in early alpha for fun ONLY lol. And if we think we can make it good we get legal and make something out nice out of it.
We would need a few more people to work with 3dmax and art, then music. But as for scripting I figured this would be the best place to find some people. Especially because your patches making tactical games more difficult. I have a few friends at ragezone and PXI (I used to script for them) that may be willing to do server side work.
the music and advanced animation and art can be polished later so i guess if we get a few people from each community involved I think we can make something great using the free unreal software development kit , meaning graphics will be pretty modern as well.
Anyway its probley a long shot, and I'll end up doing this alone but I just thought I'd ask lol.
I went to bed many times in life dreaming on if FFT was an MMO lmao, so if I have to do it alone or with people, this is gonna happen either way.
I would say the biggest reason for me doing this is the constant lack of MMO's being released that aren't clones, and while ff14 is comming out, there is still a lot of people that prefer F2P over P2P even if it has item malls (I personally wouldn't create my item mall to give advantages over others, in battle that is.)

Well its not really a project specific to FFT so no. This will eventually have its own site if enough outside interest is shown, for now I'm just working on it solo
Semi-related... Okay, it's not really related. But I was thinking recently, if you could compare PS1 FF7 and PC FF7, could you make a PC version of FFT by applying what you can figure out about the differences between PS1 FF7 and PC FF7 to PS1 FFT?
That's not how it works.
Yeah, FF7 was assembled for two different systems. They didn't take the compiled PS1 version and turn it into a PC game, or vice versa. They took their source code and turned it into the other version, which is a whole lot different.

Perhaps you should talk about this when you have some tangible progress to show? I don't mean to be a downer but the best you'll get by posting here is some vague suggestions and cautious enthusiasm.

Current plan is a learning process gaming MMO, then I plan on branching off with people for a Tactics style MMO, I'd rather not branch but not all of the current devs may not want to be a part of a tactical mmo build. If they do, kick ass. Anyone wanting to learn come on down. We idle tons in the chat, and progress is slow but its comming.
