Looks challenging...but it would be cool to see the AC Cloud, hmm, maybe someone should make a motorcycle that functions like a Chocobo but has no attacks haha...

What are those dark pixels on his left cheek? Shadow? Scars? And maybe the white on the shirt could use some work--right now it looks kind of shredded, when placed against the blue. The hair needs something too, but I'm not sure what. Honestly though, this portrait looks very good.

Well, the dark pixels are suppose to be shadow but it seems to be not working. I guess I should tone it down. Yeah, the white zip should use some work.

"his" right side of the face looks wierd. it needs a little work on it, but i dont know if its because of his cheek but his right eye also looks out of place...

I think moving the eye should fix the cheek. I'll get to that.

It took me a bit to put my finger on it, but aren't his shoulders way too narrow?

Shoulders are too narrow and his head looks like an egg. Just because he doesn't have a nose doesn't mean his head is round. It looks like he is tucking is chin down or something. Try reworking the angle that you have his tilted. Also there is too much of his body in the portrait, which probably means that he is too small.

I can rework the shoulders. As for body being too much, note that this is larger than normal avatar/portrait size. So, once trim, we will have lesser body shown. Extending his chin may fix the egg head, I think.

Maybe you should post the picture that you're basing the portrait on--then we'll get a better idea of how the shoulders should look and how to fix the face. I really don't see any problems, but that's just me.

Yeah, I guess I should. Here's the picture I'm basing from. I moved his eyes one pixel to the right to fix the cheek problem on the first one. Looks weird. The below is the original.

The new one looks better , it's not weird at all . Maybe if you make the chin a few pixels wide it'll look better ?

Not that the one you did looks bad but maybe in the portrait it'll look small. I didn't work on the shades and stuff , just made it wide.

Well, for the shoulders, don't worry about it. I'm just showing that it's based on the reference picture. However, if compare it with FFT's, it's looking weird. So, I'll definitely rework the shoulders.

Hmm.. Doesn't look Cloud enough with the squared chin.

I made an edit that would go well with Kyousukeee's shoulders, imo. Most of the changes were in the face, zoom to see.

Kyousukeee, your solution was pretty good. But like Jimmy said it no longer looked like Cloud. Smash obvious has it right.

It looks good though, but could you drop the lightest blond shade? If you add another light shade to blend the white and the blues from the shirt, it may look better. Maybe, I dunno.

it looks like smash did a pretty good face fix.

Alright, here. Left is the original with thinner neck while right is new, with thinner neck, removed lightest blonde and add white/gray + lowered chin by a pixel.

EDIT: I made the right one because compared with other FFTs, he has shorter face.

Looks good, the one on the right. Makes him look older; which he is by that point.

Oi, I prefer the one on the left; to me that looks more like Cloud, but I'm not familiar with AC at all, so my opinions may be moot.

Left one does look more like Cloud but the his face may be bit smaller than other FFTs.

Very nice improvements. I think either work for the reasons stated above.

the one on the left looks good. cloud is suppose to be older in ac but he still has that baby face lol.

Left looks too young.  Right looks too elongated.  Not sure how you could fix either, but I'm at a loss for which one I prefer.  It's relatively minor details at this point though, so I'd like either one.

Funny thing is just a pixel lower of his chin make such difference. Hmm...

Yeah, it's crazy how these seemingly negligible edits make such huge changes. Great work though, Jimmy--this is a very nice portrait.

The reason I made this is because I never actually like the existing Cloud AC portrait as it doesn't look AC at all. Now, if I only can do the same thing for the sprite, we may get to see much closer Cloud AC.

true it dont look ac like but the old portrait still look nice. but i agree that it needs a better sprite. actually i saw a sprite that i think is by kuraudo in the "what is everyone working on" with hair close to ac cloud

There's an AC sprite by Miroshi Beshima on this page (http://ffhacktics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=303&p=99753&hilit=Cloud#p99753)--it has a slightly different hairstyle, though the quality of the sprite is so-so. Kuraudo's sprite is on the submissions page.

Yeah, the old portrait is nice as it is directly from original Cloud (FF7), so..ya but just not AC enough. As for the sprite, Miroshi has better hair; Kuraudo's is nice, just the hair doesn't really fit as it is directly from original Cloud, which is from FF7.

Yes Miroshi did a nice hair, I wanted to use it on my own sprite, but I don't have much time to sprte lately, this would definitly work for AC Cloud. As for portrait...whoa, you are improving, Jimmy
