Not only can it cut in half the size of most PNG sprites on the forum, but it is also very simple to use.
You just have to open the small program and drag & drop your png/gif/bmp and it will save an optimized version for you; it will swap the color depth too if it can to save a lot of space. And obviously: no quality loss. I absolutely recommend everyone giving it a try. I first thought kokojo's PNG compression was badass, but this creates way smaller files.
I would prefer if it didn't have the forced "Always on top" though.
Note: PNG compression is more effective on larger, less colored pictures. You likely won't compress much more on a very highly detailed png, like a desktop screenshot for instance.
Wow...cool tool. Thanks Zodiac ^^
Fantastic, I'm gonna start using this right away.
Awesome
Huh? My biggest sprite .png file is 33 KB...most are around 2 KB...how much smaller should they be and why exactly? No offense to you personally Zodiac, but who cares about the size? KB is tiny as is...
Read the topic title, this is mostly aimed at people who sprite in paint and don't really bother converting to png, uploading a 1.4mb bmp file.
Yup Jon, many people post bmp's not png's.
Hmm, I admit I posted at first .bmps, but now only .pngs...my bad...
