Title: Don't you just HATE winter?
Post by: SolidSnakeDog on October 22, 2009, 08:36:53 pm
...you asking WY I HATE IT?? HERE!

Prologue....

Snow is falling....alot. Eneuf for me to take the showel and clean the snow 3 times in less that 6 hours...ugh really great winter start.
To get an idia how large i must clean this take me about 30 minutes each times to clear it all. I hate winter so much, you will not even belive me...

I simply hate it....

1.Needing to use the damn showel at almos each hour...
2.Forced to use a cloak that is heavy.
3.Going to an public toilet and you got a big cloak...you are forced to hold it so this do not fall on the toilet...or drop it on the ground just to be sure it wont... :gay:

But if your guys like it i don't mind...guess that depend on where you are and what luck you had. Mine was probably the worst case sernario.

Try to tell 17 good thing(or bad) about winter.
Or tell your best/worst story hapened to you in Winter.

I didn't see the option for "Absolutely fucking LOVE Winter!"

Nothing makes me feel more alive than blizzards. I'd rather curl up with my wife over a hot drink than watch a bunch of bikini-clad tarts roast their orange flesh on the beach, anytime. Even if there were thousands of them. Fuck that. Ra damns us with the sun.

Love winter. Easier to sleep because it's cold. Finally, I'd rather be cold than hot. Also there are no bees.

I like winter, and I agree with BasterdPoetry, blizzards are one of my favorite types of weather, the sound of the wind moving the house, can't see twenty feet from your house, and still cozy from the fireplace, the only thing I dislike is how much it hurts my Moms wrists because of arthritis.

Also, Dokurider, I agree fully with the lack of bees, they scare me.

The two main problems I have with winter:
1. Cold feet.
2. Short days.
Other than that it's alright. Probably the one good thing about winter is that it's not too hot when I walk home from school.

Post by: Xifanie on October 23, 2009, 07:38:58 am
lol cold feet? I had this problem before; many years ago.

Just stay always barefooted and cold in that region will never be a problem anymore. It's better for health anyway because socks will keep humidity and heat allowing spores to attack your skin.

Winter sucks because of:
- Shoveling;
- Snow in your face when there's wind;
- Cleaning your car off snow;
- Way too much snow.

Winter rules because of:
- Cold, for cold training. yay =D

What is this winter you speak of?
I live in Miami, we only have 2 seasons:
1) Hot & wet.
2) Hot & dry-ish.

winter is AWESOME.

But I say this as a texan.  Snow comes rarely and the ice on the roads is never more than an inch.

Mostly it's just a time to get plenty of outdoor exercise and wear beanies.

worst part about winter for me is getting out of bed :D

QuoteWinter rules because of:

At less i am almos immune to it after i got a big cold for a full year...after this, the cold i had after never lasted more that 2-3 days. Aslo that is very rare i catch a cold now.

Yeah...short days sucks in winter. Here in mid winter this is totally dark here after 4PM  :D[/quote]

A winter like this looks great to me.
Your are like me wen you say you hate waking up early.
I need to wake at 7h just to clean the damn snow...

I have to admit...the thing i like about winter is there are very few bugs...
particulary the flying ones. (Ugh get out of my face! AHHH!!! GET OUT OF MY EARS!!)

Winter?

The only two seasons here are the Dry Season and the Rainy Season. Temperature rarely falls below 23 deg C, average is ~28 deg C. It's pretty awesome since on hot days there's air-conditioning =)

I'm not a fan of the cold, so that kinda ruins winter for me.  But, winter in St. Louis is not guaranteed to be cold.  It could be anywhere from -10 degrees to 100 degrees in the span of a week.

Tornadoes are extremely rare here.
I think we get more water spouts than tornado.
What we do have often is hurricanes.
Haven't had a nice hurricane in a while.
The moderate hurricanes are fun because they tend to knock out power for a few days. It's like camping!

My eyes are a bit light sensitive.  The less the sun glares down unobstructed, the better.  For me anyways.  I voted in favor of winter.

From taking mass transit while everyone (yourself included) is bundled up in giant coats, to dealing with snow after a snow storm because the authorities refuse to cancel classes for the day, and of course, being stuck doing mostly indoor activities...

Oh, mid-40's F. Pretty nice for winter
cold enough for a heavy coat
near zero
near zero with below zero windchill[/b].

I know there's more extreme cold weather to the north (:( for people in Buffalo, Rochester, and across the border), but it's so hot during the summer, I find it funny and annoying that the weather swings between two extremes like it does in temperate regions.

I do enjoy freshly fallen snow, and the occasional snowball fight though.

Winter is actually my favorite season, closely followed by fall. I get hot easily, so cold weather doesn't bother me as badly as it does to other people where I live. Also, no bees is a huge plus since I have an extreme case of apiphobia (yup, fear of bees). Glad to see I'm not the only one who hates the little buggers. Snow is rare around here, so I don't have to deal with it. Plus, the skies are usually gray and block out the sun. I hate the sun. <_<

I very much like how you think.

The beach scene is nice once in a blue moon, but its vastly overrated and most of the women aren't really worth the effort to go out of the way to look at anyway.

Winter makes many opportunities to get some good time in with the lil' missus, so I must greatly applaud it.

That and I'm from New England.  Apparently it was 33 degrees outside today and I thought it was like, 50-55.  So the cold isn't as big a deal to me as heat is.  :/

My first winter here in Boston, we had a weekend in January that netted us 28 inches of snow. Granted that's an anomaly, but still...I loved it! And after five years, my cold tolerance is insanely high.

In general I love winter, especially the snow. Coming inside from the cold to warm up with soup, hot chocolate, and lovin' is vastly superior to coming home sticky from sweat and sitting motionless on the couch in an attempt to cool off. The biggest downside is shortened days - tonight's sunset in Boston is 4:33 PM. But waking up to a fresh coat of snow, or sitting inside watching a snowstorm, is just too much fun.

Then again, I don't drive.

Oh god.  I see chicks who have that orange-ish skin tone and actually want to throw up.

I don't need my women baked or singing catchy-yet-annoying-as-hell songs, thank-you-very-much.

Yeah, similar up here in New Hampshire.

Last December I ended up not having some combination of power / heat / cable in my house for a week and a half because we had some hellish snow, though I'm pretty sure that storm reached far enough for you guys in Boston to feel it too.

Ended up with over two weeks of snow days from school (High School at the time), froze to death, won a free laptop at a bingo hall, and found a new love for Chicken Caesar salad.

Hopefully that doesn't happen again this year, though.  I love winter and snow days and snow and all that good stuff, but my girlfriend probably won't be around during December this year and my parents are disabled, so I've no way to benefit from another round of epic snowstorms.

And lol, I don't drive either.

^This, although I shouldn't complain considering that in Canadialand, especially around Winnipeg and Vancouver, if the temperatures are around the freezing point during the winter, you can make snow by tossing boiling hot water over a rooftop.

But yeah, winter sucks balls in NYC. I'll take spring/summer/early autumn any day over winter.
