Title: help with sprite plox?
Post by: Jumza on October 07, 2009, 07:29:15 pm
Ive been working on a sprite for my friend colin and when i tried doing seushiro's idea to make custom sprite portraits I decided to make a sprite for him from the Kletian and knight mix. i need help converting his portrait to 16 colours and maybe help with editing his spr. the portrait in the current sprite is one from my old file which was wiegraf with a knight that had red armour... the sprite isnt great becuase its a recolour of wiegraf with portrait change maybe some ideas for that to? I chose that portrait i made of him cuz he can get angry really fast.

the hair of the sprite doesn't match with the hair of the portrait
i can make it 16 colors for you but fix the hair problem first

As far as the portrait goes, he's missing his right eye...The hair isn't too big of an issue, in my opinion. Anyway, yeah, I too can reduce the portrait to 16 colors--when it's ready.

Did you use Kletian's face shape? If so, that's the problem: most sprites (especially generics) tend to tilt their heads in a certain direction, whereas some special characters (including Izlude, Balk, Kletian, and many others) have their heads tilted in strange directions. Just take the male Knight's entire head, erase the neckline, swap out the eyes, and place it over the current head. It'll look more natural and fix the awkward smile and eye problems right now.
