Title: ePSXe
Post by: Blood Wolf on September 25, 2009, 11:41:12 pm
I downloaded the ePSXe but I can't get it to run. I downloaded it and it made me extract the files but it still wont run. When i try to run it it comes up with an error message saying "This application has failed to start because zlib1.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I have tried reinstalling it but it still doesn't work. can someone tell me whats wrong?

You need to download zlib1.dll and put it in the folder where the ePSXe.exe is.

ok I've done that and now as I am configuring it it comes up with the message "ePSXe wasn't able to find a GPU plugin in your epsxe\plugins directory. Take a look at the list of recommended plugins and download the latest version from pages like www.psxemu.com (http://www.psxemu.com) or www.emulatronia.com (http://www.emulatronia.com)" but i checked and the GPU is in the plugin foleder. and ideas on how to make it work?

Great, but you need the correct GPU plugin, not just any, here's a good site for them, different ones work better for different games http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm (http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm)

Awesome thanks I'm testing it with FF8 right now and it's working fine. I might have to do a bit of tweaking with FFT but seriously thanks alot for helping me! I've tested it with Star Ocean: the second story too and it's working fine. But when i use it it only goes halfway into full screen any idea on how to fix that?

You betcha

Start epsxe

go to "config" at the top menu

Select video

Select the GPU driver you are using

Press the the top "configure" button

I cant guide you from here because the menu screen is different for each plug in, however no matter what one your using there should be a full screen option somewhere, if it asks to allow x and y software stretch say yes, that's just a way to get it to go full screen ;).

If you need farther help getting tactics to work or going full screen telling me what GPU you have chosen would aid me greatly in me directing you.
