I agree, I think I should probably wrap the headband around his head so he'll look more like he did in LoD. I was about to delete the portrait, since it looked a little weird, but posted it anyway. The things I plan to change are his eyes and brow, his ear, and possibly his armor. And things I'll definitely change are his mouth and the headband. I'll repost as necessary.
Oh, and before I forget I should acknowledge that this started out as a modification on the portrait that McCracker posted earlier, but kinda got mucked up in the process.

Definitely much much better. You could continue to touch up the hair and armor and maybe find different tones of red (those are just too bright I think). The headband needs some work plus shading from the hair the is laying over it. But you are moving in the correct direction.

Oh yeah that is such an improvement. Great work with that armor, the head band, and those colors are great. The hair still looks a little odd, mostly because the front bangs are so much lighter then everything in the back. But it is fine. Nice work.

I'm at a standstill: I have no idea what to do to this portrait. I mean, I tried using a different shade to partially darken his hair but none looked right, I tried reshaping the back of his hair but I wasn't satisfied, and I think that's it. I'm happy with the current eyes, mouth, and armor, but I guess I'm stuck.

Well thanks, I'm still struggling with the shade of red that looks best, too desaturated is pinkish, but too saturated is hugely red, and inbetween that isnt much better. I kind of prefered the old version he had going in the what are you working on thread.

That sprite from page number one looks good, it is Dart I suppose(damn I am smart). But there are few problems, the bandana looks like it was done custom, and it executed bad, the colors of bandana mix up with hair and we get some twisted results. Colors itself needs desaturation too, practicly only red. Hair is either copied straight from Cloud or slightly edited of his hair, should be more cutom too. Armor is out too, it doesn't look bad, but pasting some other wouldn't be bad, or making custom(this is unlikely to happen, hehe). Well, that is mostly all I see.

I wish I still had my work, the bandanna was custom and I had touched it up some before losing it all (bad virus and two computers ago). Still not much free time to work on it but, having it revived means my work isn't going to waste (let's not bring up Megaman X).

colors are similiar indeed. Try using more of yellow from his hair in other spots as well, legs for example. Those browns aren't too different from reds on small view too, hmmm.

Headband need some serious work. Angle, outline, size. Also, his bottom hair colour on rear diagonal and rear frame shouldn't just a single shade of brown while his top are only two shades, which is flat. Try add some highlights.

Looks pretty good, just be careful with those knee pads: because the legs around them are all that same shade of dark gray, it can give the illusion that the knee pads are just floating around on his body. Anyways, good improvements.

I like the sprite, it looks great now, especially that big armored arm . Well, hair and bandana looks strange to me on port, but since I am no great expert, I cannot tell exactly why ;/, maybe it is the hair right above the bandana, it should be darker IMO

Require some dark shades on his front hair where they fold, hair that overlaps. Perhaps darker the darkest red so that it could be use for shadows on those armor edges.

Another Dart portrait, eh? The hair looks pillowy, the face shape looks a little awkward, and his hair style makes his head look kinda long. Your reds are a little dull too. I think this hair style definitely looks more like Dart than the one on the portrait I made way back when.

pillow hair, his right (our left) eye region seems a bit.... quirky, his left arm's shading needs a lil fixing, the ear just seems a bit.... off, he also looks a little bit "younger" then he should. all just minor tweaks/details really, the portrait as a whole is good, just, you know, needs a bit o fixin up

Portrait looks much better. He has too much hair though--it shouldn't come up so high; give the lad a hair cut. He could use a new chin too, but that's not completely necessary.

I took the liberty of making some of those lines look a little more gradual/softer. I dont know if I did it well because I haven't really tried portraits before but you get the idea.

Hmm... am I the only one that think that Dart looks a little too happy? If I recall he always seemed hurried or impatient to reach his next objective. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me but he looks far too at peace, I feel.

Nope the sprite isnt finished, but i should get around to it soon, (Kage has been bugging me about it, so ill eventually cave in

Make the face longer... the longer it is the older he looks. And why don't you try making it look like the way he looks in his game? You know, side view of him, showing half his face, with an eye looking a bit sad (IMO). Well, for now making the face older should your priority .

Ive made little edits already, though any longer (face) would look odd, so instead i made it straighter (ill also change the eyes). I'm assuming you are referring to his battle stance, the side view sounds interesting ill take a crack at it later on.

the style doesnt quite imitate fft style, and it would look out of place in game. the most recent port seems fairly accurate, it just needs a bit more "age" to it, though tbh very few people in tactics look "old".

Hell no. Current Twin's portrait looks great. Just some slight fixes are required. TBH, Twin, I would rather see Dart finished first than any FF7 sprite(unless we talk about Nanaki, hehehe), I just love the way Dart looks.

I've still never beaten it, and I'm too lazy to grind so I can beat Melbu Frahma. And I'm with Kage on this, the current port is fine, Darts real port would look bad FFT style.
