Title: long time no see...
Post by: BeoulveBlack on August 28, 2009, 08:57:24 am
as the title says, i know i've been ghost for a long time, truth is, life is catching up, but more importantly, some thunderstorm this summer fried my pc  :(

so yeah, all the things i had half finished that i would have finished one day are gone....but i see tinings are still moving along nicely here and that's great. boy, i bet if i dissapeared for a few years and came back you guys would have re-wrote the game. strangely enough though, i got interested in MIPS assembly, and i thought that i'd start learning when i got my new laptop.

my first project will be a very brief edit of star ocean 3 (aura wall dmg up a bit and non-elemental, a few moves' CP down, a few weapons switched cause i hate ugly final weaopons, etc.)
after this, i plan on doing some part overhauls in armored core: last raven

PS
if anyone knows anything about this, it'd be nice to get some help learning it now

Yo!

Look up Zodiacs ASM lessons. FFT uses MIPS of course. SO these lessons should give you some practical knowledge.

yo vanya, link me to where that is, i want to compile a few MIPS guides together so i get a thorough understanding.

hopefully the things in last raven that i want to edit (static values like equipment stats, etc.) are located in the same place as they are in FFT: in the SL-/SCUS file...and i hope to god they're not coded in any kinda funny way othr than straight hexd

i know i'm gonna need some understanding for SO3, since i wanna change the elemental nature of a few moves, and there dmg ratings (non elemental 10% per hit dmg Aura Wall! w00t!)
