Title: So who is your favorite fft charcater?
Post by: Smitson on July 27, 2009, 04:09:37 pm
And what is your favorite scene?
Personally, I'm a huge Delita fan. The way he gets to the top. He even has the balls to threaten Ramza and tell him he'll kill him if the situation ever occurs.

My favorite scene is the falls, so many crucial NPC there(Delita, Agrias, Gaffy and Ovelia). Ramza sees Delita again, just a really epic and important part of the game.

Delita's my favorite villain ever. He's not the antagonist of the story, but he still manages to be such a jackass that I love to hate him.

delita is no villain; he's just an anti-hero.

Anyways, Izlude -- largely because I'm just a sucker for the do-good and loyal badguys.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/villain
1.    a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel.
2.    a character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot.

I think he fits under the anti-hero definition too, though. He's not the antagonist, nor is he a protagonist. So...

I've always wished they would have expanded on him a bit more.
Plus he has an awesome name.

important evil?

the only remotely evil things he did were kill goltana and kill a cid lookalike.  Compared to say, the shrine knights and zodiac beasts, he's a pansy.

Meeeeanwhile:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fi ... antiheroes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_antiheroes)

QuoteCharacteristics in protagonists that merit such a label can include, but are not limited to:

    * imperfections that separate them from typically "heroic" characters (selfishness, ignorance, bigotry, etc.);
    * lack of positive qualities such as "courage, physical prowess, and fortitude," and "generally feel helpless in a world over which they have no control";[1]
    * qualities normally belonging to villains (amorality, greed, violent tendencies, etc.) that may be tempered with more human, identifiable traits (confusion, self-hatred, etc.);
    * noble motives pursued by bending or breaking the law in the belief that "the ends justify the means."

And help manipulate a war, and manipulate someone into marrying him, then killing her....

He treated people like expendable puppets. Like he said, he was doing the using, and with no care as to who it hurt.

How did he become leader of the black sheep knights in the first place I wonder...

Probably because he was better than generic knights.

It always seemed to me like he killed her in a self-defense reflex, then immediately thought "...aw, fuck."  I really think he intended to rule with her for as long as possible, and his downfall was not being entirely honest with her.  She became so embittered and paranoid that she tried to kill him.

Yeah me too.

I was never sure if he was lying when he told Ramza he loved her, but I'm leaning toward him telling the truth. Would make sense, since in the end it'd mean he killed his new Teta with his own hand. Poetic justice and whatnot.

Thirded, Izlude was also awsome, and I like Gaffgarion too, mostly because if ramza would have thought about it(and had enough money) he might have been able to just pay him to change sides.

I also would like some more backstory for Klatian and Rofel, even though they did get some extra story in WotL it still wasn't enough development...
