Title: So I'm kinda new to all this...

okay, I'd guess the first thing I need to know is if all this requires custom firmware? I'm looking into it but first I'll need to get an MMS and a pandora, don't worry about that I know where I can get them.

however, is the tool used for pretty much ALL WotL mods 'LionEditor'?

Also...why is it I haven't seen a Sephiroth sprite? I'm not an FF7 fanboy but I'd kinda expect that to have been done real quick...

As I told you in IRC, yes it requires CFW. And yes, your PSP is already ineligible to be CFW'd.

And yes, Lioneditor, and one other tool whos name I forget right now.

I think he might be wondering why there isn't a real Sephiroth sprite, but that cheap 5 minute elmdor recolor instead.

A real Sephy sprite should look like this

Actually the recolour isn't that bad, and I hadn't found it until after I posted. Nice stormtrooper BTW lol.

Hey, why am I still here? My only hope to do this is if I get a new PSP...

Most of us play FFT hacks through PSX emulators. It is much easier and cheaper. Not all the hacks work on the psp version either.

I live in Europe, the original FFT never came out here so I can't do it.

...FF Tactics never came out in Europe though. At least not in the UK region. Or are you talking about a torrented ISO?

Also in Italy, but I bought the american version and played it with an adaptor...if we talk about the ISO, everyone can just download it with an emulator and play it ^_^

a link. You'd copy and paste it into the address bar.

I don't really trust google for stuff like that TBH.

I could provide the package emulator if given an email, or look for the user TRC. He would be happy to help i believe.

Be careful when soliciting ISOs. It is not allowed here anymore so try to be more discreet. Or rip a copy of your own.

I was only aware AFTER I asked, sorry about that >_<

However I couldn't make my own as I don't have the disc for the original and I don't think there's a PSP emulator out there.

Thanks for providing me with the emulator, Redux. There's some noise bugs (very frequent jarring but it's not bad during gameplay) - but after a while (during the first battle) it froze my laptop.

Do the rest of you use the same emulator? I'm not sure if the problem was with the emulator, disc image (he gave me 3 different ones with different file extensions, they all start up ok), or just my bad laptop.

Use .img. Always. Sound bug, i haven't had it.

If I should only use .img...um...why'd you give me a .sub, a .ccd and a .img? they all seem to work fine...

Oh, and the .img one is what I tried first and got the sound bug, it's mainly down to just a little lag. I'll try it again later tonight. It's kinda tricky to know what's going on when all the stuff's named differently to WotL.

Okay, I'll try it later tonight. Admittedly I can't get it on my PSP from the looks of it, but hey, this is the next best thing.

in fact, the little audio skipping thing even happens when I start the emulator, when it's doing the Sony intro thing. it's probably due to a bad processor.

Turns out it's just my crappy laptop. I monitored my RAM consumption while playing and it's always 90%. MINIMUM.
