Title: anybody look into FFTA/A2 hacking?
Post by: arc on June 20, 2009, 12:39:03 am
I'm sure it's possible, but I don't know if anyone's done any delving into the code yet.

Actually it seems like it'd be easier to hack a GBA/DS game than a PSX game, but I don't know as I'm not as tech savvy as most of the people around here.

Seems like this belongs in the General Board...

I tried looking around a few GBA games and it's freaking ridiculous.  I can't find ANYTHING, not even stuff I know is in there somewhere, unit names and such.  I tried a relative search, nothing.

I guess GBA Roms are encrypted or compressed somehow.

Indeed. Almost every GBA game uses some sort of compression.
However, there is a guy over at ROMHacking.net that is working on tool that lets you view, export, import, and modify files in lots of different games on lots of different systems including GBA, NDS & PSP. Look for it in the forums under the name Console Tool.
