Title: ePSXe, Ideal Graphics Settings
Post by: bonebleached on May 29, 2009, 04:53:55 am
Hi, everyone.

I've been a long-time forum lurker (over a year and a half now, I believe), and was wondering if I could get help with ePSXe plug-ins.

I've been using ePSXe for years, but have never been happy with the graphics. A lot of the videos you guys post are brilliant. I was wondering if you are simply running on a smaller resolution, or if there were specific settings and plugins that would help.

Thanks!

a good reason for the high quality videos is more in the video capture and compression software, but:

I rock P.E.Op.S's video plugin.  It works very well for fft (no black world map for example) and usually play at 800x600 window but record with 640x480.  Having a low-end computer (<1 gig RAM, <2 gig processor) has the potential to cause some slow-down, but it won't necessary make the game -look- worse.

are you running a small resolution in full screen? >_>

I use P.E.O.P.s as well.

No, I always run in a window.

I guess 800x600 is the reason, I try to run at a higher resolution because my monitor is 1920x1200 and 800x600 is just too small.

I'll keep trying.

Peops solved the black map problem, but raised a few new ones.  Now the game is played too fast.  I went in to adjust the frame rate and then the sound desynched.  Is there an easy fix for this in the configuring menu?  Thanks for the help in advance.

Use Peops sound plugin, too. Also, don't use optional hacks.
In the configuring video window, just click NICE,
then change the view to Windowed mode. (optional)

For the sound plugin, just set PEops and don't worry about its configuring window.

Hope this helps.
