Title: HOW DO I.......
Post by: deadlyangel91792 on May 25, 2009, 11:08:04 am
How Do i edit the unit.bin in the psp version of Final Fantasy Tactics???? see i have zalbaag, delita chapter2/3,advent children cloud, and zack fair sprite made to replace male dark knight sprite and i really want them all to show up in the unit screen.

Also how can i replace the onion knight job class for a holy knight one
to be exact i wanna know how to change the job name, description, sprite, unit sprite, and abilities or any other class for holy knight with the custom holy knight sprite found here

One last thing how can i add another jobclass to the psp version i see in fftpatcher there is a bunch of classes and skillsets but some of them are blank can i use these??? and assign a name to them?

extract fftpack.bin using CDMage or UMDGen then got to the PSP part in the FFTPatcher menu and extract fftpack.bin. Then patching works exactly like the PSX version.

Thanks Kourama, I haven't loaded my PSP .ISO on my computer since I had to reformat, so I couldn't check that out.

I only know this because I edited my psp version of FFT a long time ago when melonhead first posted his patcher. fftpack.bin has everything psx iso has and more.

Anyway good luck with your changes.

the file probably doesn't have 16 colors. Use a program to make sure the file has 16 files, no more no less. I used GIMP to do this.

Alright, here's your solution...

Take your 24x40 Image of the left facing Advent Cloud, and paste it into a brand new GIMP file, with the dimensions set to 24x40 (obviously).

Now this next step, is going to create your palette for you...

Go to 'Image' at the top -> Mode -> Indexed

This should open up a window (shown below) prompting you to generate the palette, select 'Generate Optimum Palette', and then click convert.

Check to make sure there are only 16 color slots and then 'Save as' a .BMP file.

*EDIT* this is now added to my guide.

Honestly is this noob bashing really necessary in the 'Help!' section?

I mean I could see it in any other thread, but not in the section designated for noobs.

Lol. CidIII, this guide explains so much easier, better, fast, simple, understandable ^^
Looks like explanation in words and sentences are abit harder to understand.
Haha. ^^
