My contribution: Equilibrium, with Christian Bale. In the immortal words of my cousin, "God, he's creepy. But he's hot too."

If you like Equilibrium, make sure to watch:
Runny Scared: No else I know has seen this movie before I recommended it, truly amazing and awesome.

Many of these may not be obscure to people, but maybe some gems you haven't heard of...
EDIT: Add "Run Lola Run" as well
Man Beawulfx that is a good list. Many of those movies I would have also recommended if I had given it more thought.
Haha, thanks, I'm an obsessive list maker so I have a text file with every great movie I've seen (well, I've probably missed a few) so I gave it a quick scan for some slightly more obscure films then I didn't even have to think
Thats an impressive habit, Beawulfx, i wish i had the discipline to remember to do that. make a list so i can remember things that is
Alot of those i really do reccomend, but you listed a large variety of titles, from obscure horror to thriller to animated. Its not a bad thing, thats waht google is for, but its just be a bit easier. not to critisize your list.
Also, the Orphanage was bit freaky, considering it is more than possible to happen. Mother suffers emotional trauma, and it ends up just being an accident...and i dont want to ruin it... but it definatly was really good.
Pan's Labrynth i saw twice, and liked it better the second time. Really unique movie about a girl who finds a small shrine, and is convinced she is the daughter of the king of the underworld by a demon/faun.
Thing about both of these, they are in french. and that is on purpose. Subtitles arent hard to catch on your first watch of them, but you will end up reading them, and that detracts from the scenery. so the second time you notice more of the picture than the words.
Heh, I know my list wasn't very informative, but some titles you can IMDB or something to get an idea if interested. That said if anyone did want more info on a particular movie I would be glad to provide it
Also just a small correction SB, Pan's Labyrinth and the Orphanage are both in Spanish actually, as well as the Devil's Backbone, and Amores Perros. Run Lola Run is German. Diving Bell and the Butterfly is French, City of G.O.D (damn word filter!) is Portuguese, and Let the Right One In is Swedish... so uhh... if you can't read, cross those all out >_>
The Thing
Its actually Spanish from Spain which is why you may have mistook it for french SB.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Thanks for the correction guys, and yea, after you said that i recognized some of the words from spanish class. Makes more sense then a french movie with a spanish commander in it(pan's labyrinth)
City of G0D is a great obscure movie as well.
and what a pain in the ass that I can correctly spell the title of a movie because of this "St. Ajora" bs.
Grosse Pointe Blank
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Kiss Me Deadly
A History of Violence
Six String Samurai
Yojimbo (the original Akira Kurosawa film staring Toshiro Mifune)
What the Bleep do we know!?-Down the Rabbit Hole

the princess bride- a kinda old movie, but maybe one of the greatest ever made
QuoteWhat the Bleep do we know!?
That movie is made of gay and fail. It gives you the wrong impression of Quantum Mechanics.

I don't know if the the rush hour movies were obscure, but they were great either way
Don't think any of these are "obscure," but:
TMNT (1990 live action movie)
Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves (good action movie)
Dr. Horrible
The Seven Samurai
Quote from: "Kaijyuu"TMNT (1990 live action movie)
this is the standard for kick ass movies made from comics (take that marvel and dc)
I have like all three TMNT live action movies. 2 with the shredder(my favorite was the one where he mutates his own pets) and then one where they rip this dimensional portal or something and fight a fire-breathing lizard...i need to rewatch that before i give you guys an accurate description...
Are you talking about the one where the virgo stone or something transports them to feudal japan? I don't remember any fire breathing lizards. Maybe that's because I last saw that movie 15 years ago.
The first one's the only one really worth watching. The second is a good kids movie, but lacks any depth. Never seen the third, supposedly it's horrible (that's the one where they go to feudal japan).
