Title: Remenising: What was your first POST?!
Post by: SentinalBlade on February 23, 2009, 02:04:28 am
Looking back nearly a year ago, last may 08. i posted about my project. which quickly grew into SoR. i retain homage to the original by nameing the patch without a custom storyline, Exodus.

It quickly died and i had to restart. in essence, it was one of the failed projects dominic wouldve locked. the next one however, got what it deserved. and now i have my own forum section, and im loving it <3

What was your guyses first post here about? is there a story behind it?

Good job Kokojo, I saw you posted this in my intro thread first. =P Nice quick save though, still not quick enough for a passing refresh. XD

And I don't think I've posted anything meaningful yet, just a few congrats and a little complaining on my end about IRC not working.

I swear I saw it there too. I think the forum hiccup'd because it gave me an error just before that.

haha, i mustve missed it.

And you can find your first post by using the "Find all posts by..." function on your profile page. just click the profile icon at the top of your posts.

Then just go to the last page :3

I think my first "serious" post was questioning the threads designed for banning specific users.

I read pretty much everything, but I don't post so much =/

Cheetah's first post:

"Hey Vincent I have a few questions about the FFT Palette you posted. So my understanding was that it was a list of all the available colors that could be used in FFT listed in RGB with there respective color balances. However when I made a Palette of all of them the selection looked rather lacking.

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc59 ... 1199925441 (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc59/cheetah596/FFTpalette.png?t=1199925441)

What am I doing wrong? I just went down your list and painted them right to left. The blank spot is because the list repeated itself at one point. I just itching to take a crack at some of these sprites and I just want to have the correct colors to be using.

EDIT:So I messed up the colors the first time, but it is fixed now and my questions still hold."

Pretty amusing, I started out ambitious in the spriting section and have never looked back. Though I had no freaking clue what I was doing. Most of my post after this was trying to find all the portraits posted somewhere, obvious I haven't progressed much haha. Though to this day I still have no idea what Vincent was talking about in that topic...

http://www.ffhacktics.com/forum/viewtop ... ight=#1147 (http://www.ffhacktics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1147&highlight=#1147)

Quote from: "Zozma"okay so finally there is a place for spriters! well guess what
ive been using a tool for several years called "snespalette" or something to that effect. technically its supposed to edit snes color palettes, however, fft sprites use 16 colors just like alot of snes sprites, making this an excellent tool for easy palette modification. by the way ive also made a version of Teta that has been given almost all the battle animations.

well anyway! if you export a sprite, and then open it with snes pal, you can see all the color palettes and change them to whatever you want, its very easy, then just save and re insert the sprite. let me show you a few screenshots. of my work.

shishi sure changed things for me...

First post was in spam and was this:

"
QuoteI will give you a paradox. 0.9999.... is equal to 1. Prove me wrong.

how can we prove you wrong anyone would round such an obnoxious number up to one when doin math so minus the small error factor you are indeed right

and i am a ****ing jerk"

First post of importance:

"i find a problem with this as with a character that has jumped what about the fact that all you have to do is bring up a blue characters movement range and you would then know exactly where they are not necessarily what they are but you would know they where there

also to make them invisible maybe you cause see what makes a jumped character vanish and apply that to the mix and see where it gets you"

Sep 28th 07. I was a fucking retard. Zodiac posted a thread about changing what Odin does on hit. Let's see what I have to say:

"The side of me concerned with fairness wants to say regular old death, but the side of me that wants to see Odin do something unique says crystal. I voted crystal but I definitely think it needs a lot of balancing attention. I don't think simply lowering the % chance is going to do it. Maybe crystalisation could only occur on HP critical opponents or something."

Good idea dumbass.

Damn, my first post is long as hell :D. It was a bunch of suggestions on how to balance the PSP exclusive stuff for 1.3. And of course, I was actually lurking on the site (in whatever form it took) since November of '07.

I would like to think I've become better as a poster since then. Though I think it's more likely that I now lurk as much as I did back then.

Post by: Bastard Poetry on February 23, 2009, 12:52:57 pm
My first post was on September 27th, 2007. Basically, I was here when Zodiac and Karsten first made the site on auritech, I was the 11th member to join and I lurked like crazy in my excitement for a new FFT community website. Zodiac created a topic called "Forum in Alpha State," and my first post was simple praise:

"This looks great! Thanks for all of the work you have both put into making this a reality."

My second post, wherein I attempted to contribute an idea to a discussion of name changes:

"I like the idea of fighting Larvin.

I also think Rad should be renamed ZodiacFFTM

Hmm... perhaps every character in the game could get a new name! If someone does that, please name every mindflare in the entire game 'bastardpoetry.' Red suits me, and I'd love it if every time someone saw bastardpoetry, they'd go, 'OH HELL! There's a bastardpoetry. Gotta kill that one quick!'"

My post count doesn't reflect how long I've been here, but I am a devoted lurker.

Post by: Kuraudo Sutoraifu on February 23, 2009, 03:27:33 pm
Quote from: "Kuraudo Sutoraifu's First Post"I am definitely interest in sprite editing/creating.  I posted in the GameFAQs forum a couple of months ago about doing so, but I didn't get much assistance.

If someone could give me some FFT sprite sheets, I could make new character sprites, make new job class sprites (i.e. red/blue mage), give characters with glitchy attack animations a good battle sprite, or even just editing old job classes deemed ugly (i.e. the toaster that Mediators wear on thier heads).

Could anyone hit me up with the sprite sheets and any suggestions?

I never did fix the old toasterheads.

Let's see...

A post on the Oracle if they should have a rename... also something that No one even listens to me about! I don't know how many times I've said it, and it is endlessly amusing to see it called "Ying Yang Magic" in the Text Editor, when it plainly says "Yin-Yang Magic" right next to it...

QuoteI think... personally... the whole class is labeled wrong, an "Oracle" would be one who calls or predicts miracles, in which Oracles in FFT don't even pretend to do. It might be better to call them "Feng-Shui Mages" Or generic "Sage" though they certainly do not fit the traditional ephitet of a Sage in Final Fantasy... In any case, as well. A notorious misconception I've seen so far is that it is called "Ying-Yang Magic" When it is in fact simply called "Yin-Yang Magic" It seems to be a typical Taoist Mage from the way they make it sound. So "Sage", "Yin-Yang Mage", or "Feng-Shui Mage/Artist" would be completely acceptable

I sounded so much more intelligent back then!

Hi all, I am a newcomer to this forum but FFT rules my spare time, I was raised with this game and love it to death.

I recently got nostalgic and got FFTA (the GBA version) to have some fun. Ended up running an Archer SSCC and put the videos on Youtube. I plan to make FFT Challenge videos there as well.

The most recent videos have commentary instead of music. The most recent video can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgC3J_hHZwY&fmt=6 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgC3J_hHZwY&fmt=6)

If you are familiar with the game or just want to check the challenge out, all the videos can be found at:

Thanks guys.

This is from ages ago when ranks were still used.

"Forum: General   Posted: Sat Sep 29, 2007 11:01 pm   Subject: Rankssss
Do ranks even matter? You can tell if someone has contributed or not if you could identify who they are, not by their post-count. If anything, it's possible to just remove them as a whole."

Ironically enough, the most I've contributed is the "Battle Graphics" sticky, which has become useless due to the death of that webpage.

Good to see you as well, LD.

Forget about this place? It's kind of hard to. Despite a few bumps here and there, this is probably my favorite game hacking community, although being here since the beginning kinda helps my attachment =). I just lurk really, really bad... The 4th registered member only has 26 posts =O. But I've been keeping a careful eye on Mercenaries (which is turning out excellent, BTW) and FFT Remix. I'm also aware of the increasing artistic ability in the sprites section and the advancement of coding knowledge with the advent of new ASM hacks. Things are just looking sweet overall.
