Title: Fuck.
Post by: Dokurider on February 09, 2009, 06:09:14 pm
The Backlight for my Laptop went out today. I have to take it to a shop to get it fixed. I have a few questions though:

1. How much should I expect to pay?

2. Do they scan your computer? (LOL ROMZ)

!. Unsure.
7. Maybe a virus check, but probably nothing more than that.

Na, I doubt anyone cares if you have roms an stuff on you computor.  Unless of course you are like a major rom dealer/buyer and have swindled $1000s worth of roms.

Besides, it would be violation of privacy and couldn't be used against you...I think.

Any tech worth his salt knows that the last thing you want to do, as a business, pull stunts like that.

I hope so.

Just to be on the safe side, I'll move them to a CD.

I worked at CompUSA and I can assure that they are not legally allowed to even look at the stuff on your drives. That would constitute invasion of privacy. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't back up your stuff. I've seen too many laptops wiped by mistake.

Good, because that's what store I was gonna take it to. Even still, I'm switching hard drives.

Double Fuck.

I went to Comp-USA today to get an estimate on what I should expect to pay. The technician said I should expect to pay somewhere between 150-350 dollars. Oh well.

You could buy an another car with that kind of money. Not a pretty car, mind you, but a car nonetheless.

That was a joke.

I meant any repairs on a car costs an insane amount of money.

I was exagerating

150-350 dollars? Double-fuck, indeed. Then again, that's probably the cheapest place you could go to.
