Title: Patching question...
Post by: TRC on November 20, 2008, 05:44:26 pm
Okay, I copied my FFT disk a while back and got the .img out of it, then I patched it with FFT 1.3, fast forward to yesterday, I noticed that there had been a few revisions since the version I downloaded, but I didnt have a clean FFT img so I just patched the 1.3.022 over my old FFT 1.3, I was wondering if that will cause problems or if I need to have a clean img. It worked perfect throughout all of chapter 2, until all of the sudden at the end of the Execution site it started to lag REALLY bad, and I was wondering if this may be because of patching over an old patch.

yes it will cause problems (the lag is not related to this , however)

but you need to re-patch EVERY ppf on a clean img

otherwise you will encounter bugs (nothing like lag, but consistency bugs and maybe some enemies doing things which they shouldn't)

this is stated very clearly in both the Download Thread and the README's

yeah thats what I thought... damn. I guess I'll just use the semi older V1.3 I have (that was patched over a clean img) until I find a clean img again.

Got a clean .img thanks to a friend, made a copy of it so this wont happen again, and now I'm ready to plan once again! Thanks for the info
