Title: Abyssal Blade & it's range
Post by: Lydyn on November 16, 2008, 01:53:54 pm
Does anyone know what makes Abyssal Blade use that cone-shaped targeting effect? I can't figure it out ... I'm almost guessing it's somewhere in the formula, instead of any of the boxes you can check for how it works. I've attempted to make Wish work the same way, but it ends up as a normal linear attack.

but formulas usually are not responsible for how the skill is targeted...

just what the skill does to units

no?

True, but I don't know what else it'd be. I've compared Abyssal Blade to Wish and I copied it exactly and yet it doesn't act the same.

I would guess it's coded differently since it was created for WotL. ^_^

Besides what Vanya said, it's probably that the specific code for the conic shape is located in the skillslot itself because there are a few things that seem to remain consistent for some skills despite how much you change the spell with FFTPatcher. An example is Elmdor's version of Blood Suck always displaying "Must live a vampire!" whenever hits it, whether or not it can even add Blood Suck.
