I'm attempting to recolor a sprite I'm using and I'm failing at it horribly. Can anyone help? I'm using the ShiShi Sprite Editior, i extract it. Modify it, then import it and it errors. I'm just doing a simple recolor, =/
Here's what I'm working with, i also use Adobe Photoshop. Its all i got..
*See Attached*
Did you import it, or did you just select it to pick up from BMP? And what is the error you exactly get?
(Great choice of Avatar!)
You need to edit the Palette, use Paintshop Pro or SNESpal or GIMP to do that.

Each Palette is 16 colors long, portrait palettes start at color 128, and with 256 colors max, there are 16 palettes, 8 Sprite and 8 Portrait.
Also, make sure you're recoloring by changing the palette and not simply swapping colors from colors beyond the first 16. When you import it MUST only have colors from the first 16 entries on the palette. =)
@LastingDawn - I exported then Imported off the same sprite, i also errored with it crashing, telling me i can Continue or Close the program. When i select continue, i get nothing.
@AuraDragon & Vanya - I can pick up GIMP and use that, do you have a TuT on how i can edit the palettes exactly? And how i can know i don't go ever the limit? Etc. since I'm new to this its not as simple as it looks.
Thanks for you help.
I don't and I use NeoPaint. In NeoPaint the palette editing is simply just a menu option with a mini editor window. Making sure not to go over the limit is easy enough. Just don't click on any colors outside of the first 16 and keep track of the number of colors as you start using them.
I see, thanks.
