Title: PSP Sound Issues
Post by: Darkryda on January 10, 2016, 01:56:02 am
I'm sorry if this has been answered previously, but I am a new user and I couldn't find an answer to my question so I made this account. I have the PSX version of FFT on my psp via an iso, and I am noticing a lot of audio issues with certain attacks, scrolling the menu, and when im navigating the map. Is there any patch to fix these audio issues?

I don't remember there being any issues with audio quality, but it's been a while. Other than testing ASM integrity 2 years ago, the last I'd played through PSX FFT on PSP was 2007. The only issue I remember from any of the Final Fantasies was that FFVII needed a very specific POPs version to get the battle swirl effect to draw correctly and not freeze at Rocket Town.

What model PSP do you have? Custom firmware? POPs version? I'm assuming you converted the game to EBOOT since I've not heard of running PSX ISOs natively.

Ah I didn't even think POPs would be the issue. Well after downloading like five different FFT Iso's and trying a million things, your post made me realize I just needed a different version of POPs...thank you so much.

Ha! Cool. Yeah, sometimes it is just that ridiculously simple. POPs is a strange beast. Glad you got it sorted, though!
